AEK-971 Assault Rifle
The AEK-971 is a Russian assault rifle chambered in 5.45×39mm, developed as a competitor to the AK-74M. It features a balanced recoil system, where a counterweight moves in the opposite direction of the bolt, dramatically reducing muzzle climb and felt recoil. This makes the AEK-971 far more controllable during full-auto fire, especially in short bursts. Though not adopted as widely as the AK series due to its more complex mechanism, it remains a favorite among special forces units for its superior accuracy.
