Map Trix

Description
Map Trix 3.1.0
better map tools

better tooltips
color highlights emphasize important map features: terrain obstacles, enemy territory and units, building types, and more. hold down Ctrl or Shift to change the level of detail, or set your preferences in the Options menu.

better yield banner
the system bar adds new backgrounds to the empire yield banner, with more legible text and color coding to match the tooltips.

more lens layers
five new decoration layers offer guidance and customization options.
  • borders: optionally turn off borders for a more scenic map
  • city limits: outline each settlement instead of whole empires
  • discoveries: mark the location of goody huts and dig sites
  • fortifications: show which tiles are fortified and who controls them
  • religion: see exactly which tiles to visit with your missionaries
  • terrain: highlight terrain features that block movement or vision
activate layers in the minimap or with configurable shortcut keys.
(see screenshots for details)

more lenses
new Commander and Religion lenses activate automatically when you select appropriate units. the Commander lens can optionally include commander, military, and recon units.

@Kevinski that's true for all lenses. it's technically possible to save & restore the configuration, but it's difficult to do it consistently for all vanilla & modded lenses, and it would be confusing if it worked for some lenses and not others.

After changing Commander lens settings, they don't keep with the save game. After loading a game, they revert to your defaults. Is it possible for the settings to be saved?

the Commander lens turns on all of the strategic layers: Discovery, Fortification, and Terrain. it activates automatically when you select a Commander. in the mod Options you can also set it to activate for military and recon units.

@Fabiloso the gold hexagon icon is for total yield. there are two versions, one with city buildings (for urban districts) and one with the house and tree (for rural districts).

Whats the golden house and tree icon represent?

new mod options are a ton of work, and i only implement them for features that i will occasionally use myself. i will not add an option to revert the main feature of my mod.

Tooltips is excellent, with different level of details to choose from!!!
it might be even better ,【if】we add another option, switching back to official 【default】 Tooltips

btw, your mod is the only one so far that allows us to turn off 【borders】to see a more scenic map, it is so important to me! thank you so much!

@truncated i'm considering a Religion lens for missionary units and a Strategy lens for military units that would automatically enable appropriate layers. however, there are already a lot of mods that automatically select lenses, so i need to be careful about compatibility.
