Introduction
A quick reference list for items that are either commonly needed or obscured. You should be able to find whatever item you need in this guide, as well as some other rare items that you may not even know exist!

Easily purchasable items would not be listed here because, well, you can just buy 99 of them in seconds with enough Dosh. As for Boss veggies such as Great Spirit Radish, they just randomly appear as you keep planting and harvesting normal veggies at your Base Camp, and basically cannot be found in the wild (except occasionally sold by the Traveling Merchant.)

LMK there are other items you cannot find!

Note that many other materials are not listed here because their locations can somewhat easily be checked in the recipe menu, and I want to keep this list minimialistic. You may find this guide helpful too:

Tip - Traveling Merchant
I wrote more about the Traveling Merchant here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3511837051
Basically, there is a Traveling Merchant in Ginormosia, who sells basically all the rare materials in this game but randomly based on his random location, at limited quantity, and only purchasable with Cashnuts. As unreliable as it sounds, it actually lets you skip visiting the Treasure Grove entirely, so is still a recommended way for ranking up crafting Lives relatively less painfully.

It's highly recommend to start planting and harvesting as many Shadow Carrots (unlocked from reaching Master rank with Farmer), and as early as you can. Then, go to Ginormosia once per hour to check for new materisls.

See the "Don Stock" page in compendium for what he sells exactly at which location.

For the Recluse Cherry Tree, they can be found in one of the shrines, allowing you to farm the Cherry Nectar used in making consumables like Power Spray repeatedly, all without needing to wait for the 5-minute respawn timer that golden crowns usually have.

For the Magic Ore, it's in especially high demand for most end-game blacksmith recipes. The Marco method takes 15s for 8~16 Magic Ore, whereas the Shrine method takes 15s for 4~6 Magic Ore. So yeah, if you have the Dosh to spare and Marco's shop fully upgraded, buying deposits is more recommended - Go to Base Camp, press [R] and select deposits, then simply hold [Forward] and keep tapping [Confirm].
(Don't place them down with Hagram, it's slow!)
Legendary Materials
Legendary materials refer to items specifically used in crafting the Time-series and True Time-series equipment (and Legendary Feast.) Not to be confused with the rank of equipment, e.g. Notable, Supreme, Legendary.

Recommended Locations
Legendary Don Horn
Legendary Don Meat

Fangshore Isles
Legendary King Spud
Legendary King Spud
Viridia Plateau
East Greatgut Plains
West Greatgut Plains
South Greatgut Plains
* Note that there is no Legendary spawns in Moltana Wastes and Scorchrock Mountain.

If you are hunting for specific material, notably the Legendary Don Horn, you can change the area rank at any tower to completely refresh all the area challenges in the map. Besides the usual recommendation of wearing equipment providing "Item Drop Rate +", you may want to rank up the spawning areas to rank 5+ too so that the boss would drop extra materials.
(There are rumors that changing ranks in specific tower affect different spawns, but there has not been any confirmation to this.)

Unless you are a completionist, I can only recommend crafting the Pickaxe and Axe, and then Fishing Rod. This is due to how the crafting tools become obsolete by the time you can perfect-craft all recipes, whereas all the weapons are noticeably weaker than the best elemental weapons despite the stat difference. You can learn more about the damage calculation here:

Golem Fragment
Golemstone

Moltana Wastes (rank 5+)
Magma Fin
Eruptuna
Moltana Wastes (rank 5+)

Like with the Recluse Cherry Tree from last section, you can repeatedly mine the Golemstone in one of the shrines for easy and quick farming for Golem Fragment. Again, they have lower drop rate and give less EXP/Area Points, but can often be the more preferrable option than defeating a lv90 boss.

See the "Ginormosia" page in compendium for full list of bosses that appear from ranking up:

  • The 3 area challenges added in version 1.4.0 are particularly rare (~1%?)
    https://www.fantasylife.jp/fli/en/patchnote/ver_1_4_0/
    • Tips - Almost all of these materials can be repeatedly farmed by redoing the challenge, by saving and reloading after defeating the boss, while ensuring you havne't fully completed the challenge (YouTube demonstration)
    • It's worth noting the 3 rare ones are currently the best method for leveling Gathering Lives, giving 125k EXP per boss without the 5-min cooldown timer
  • "Beware the Glittering Silk" can appear in multiple areas at any Area Rank
    • (1 spot) South Greatgut Plains, Moltana Wastes
    • (2 spots) Viridia Plateau, Scorchrock Mountain, Crickneck Canyon, Drakeseye Valley, Drakesnout Range
    • The boss has a 100% chance to drop any Silk, and 33% for it to be glittering one
    • This means Drop Rate + shouldn't have any effect in improving the odds here
Treasure Grove-exclusive
Almost everything is obtainable within the Treasure Grove, but hunting for specific material is very difficult because of how many options the game might randomly pick. As such, this section would only list the bosses that can only be found within Treasure Grove.

* Not listing the fish in the left column because come on, you're smart enough to guess

Defeating the boss in multiplayer does not count towards filling up your encyclopedia. However, with the branch from finishing the Treasure Grove in multiplayer, you can still replant it and finish it in singleplayer for the encyclopedia entry. This bug has been patched!

All these bosses can supposedly appear when planting a sapling at any year. However, I've heard people not getting a boss they want after planting 150 saplings. Similar with the Slate Recipes and Marco's lootboxes, you can "save-scum" by either manually backing up your save or using the cross-save feature before planting, which is somewhat recommended.

As mentioned before, the Traveling Merchant can sell pretty much any of the rare materials listed above. If you are not in a hurry in obtaining a specific material, I recommend just checking for his stocks once a hour instead of painstakingly hunting for and replanting saplings, then doing all 10 floors of Treasure Grove just for a few items.
Unique Fish
The game lists most of the fish below to be found at the Treasure Grove, but you are guaranteed to find them at the following areas in Ginormosia, assuming if you can find the correct fish icon color and shadow size.

Scorchrock Mountain

Sweet Fish Pastry (rare)

Sweet Fish Pastry is an exception because unlike others in the list, you only get it at Base Camp instead of Ginormosia. Also, there are many other more fish you can get from the same shadow, so it might take some time before one shows up for you.

See the "Fish" page in compendium for where all fish can appear at.

The mounts dropped by various enemies are again affected by the "Item Drop Rate +" skill, so having them is highly recommended. They are listed to be obtained in Ginormosia, and I am uncertain whether they can also drop in the Past-era or Treasure Grove. But just to be safe, I recommend only attempting to get them in Ginormosia.

The gacha system in this game can be somewhat ridiculous. Quick reminder that save-scumming is an option, where you either manually backing up your save or using the cross-save feature before pulling.
