Description
"How can you fight me, when you're all so SCARED?"

Merasmus is added as a boss that has a chance at replacing the Tank - or, if a normal tank spawns instead of merasmus (configurable), he can rarely spawn alongside the Tank to aid it in battle.

Merasmus is a pure-ranged boss, having no melee attacks and dealing no forms of direct / instant damage outside of his Bombinomicon. He relies on tricks, bringing you down by tearing away your team's cohesion and making you succumb to panic.

This is the second time I've made a mod like this and this time I've actually put some effort into it instead of what the hellhound mod was. There is a vast array of things that Merasmus can do, and an even wider array of settings you can play around with at:

left4dead2/ems/merasmus/config.cfg

To get him to be exactly how you want him to be. I heavily recommend changing his settings if default Merasmus is not for you.

This boss was initially planned not to be released until I was done with a ""big project"" I'm working on that is meant to include him inside it, but because of how fun he seemed to be in playtesting to fight against, I have made the decision to release him separately and earlier than everything else.

Features

Abilities

Launching players into the air (including incapped)
Placing spitter acid beneath players
Biling players (Configurable cooldown)
Bombinomicon (Rigging a player in range to explode; causing them to instantly incap if they fail to shove Merasmus in time - also dealing friendly fire to nearby allies.) (Does not target bot or downed survivors)
Buffing special infected
Spawning
Merasmus can spawn as a chance to replace the tank.
Upon spawning, Merasmus has a chance to teleport to a random survivor to ambush them.
Merasmus can spawn as an "assisting boss", where he will sometimes spawn alongside a normal tank at a random chance.
Misc
Merasmus has a rage state where some abilities can be toggled to only trigger during said state.
Merasmus can be stunned if his Bombinomicon attack is redirected toward him.
(Defaults to being disabled due to ZSpawn causing console spam) Merasmus can constantly spawn Special Infected (while under the special infected cap) until he dies.
Considerations
Merasmus' launch ability is excessively lethal to bot survivors when near ledges or slopes (Dark Carnival's finale is notorious for this) due to them not being able to exploit or properly counter it.

I wish there's more boss fights like this in the future.

Oddly enough, I haven't run into such an issue myself
I'll still try to have a look later on to see if I can fix it either way
I think what he means is that this mod dissables any custom particles like Spitter's acid or smoker's smoke.

In my case, I have an addon that dissables the smoker's smoke cloud when it dies. But with this addon installed, the change reverts back. I also have another addon that changes the spitter's spit texture, with this mod installed that change also reverts back
