Role: Ambush - Capping - Scouting | Difficulty: MODERATE

This unorthodox fleet revolves around the point defense Etcavatha Pinceau 'Woodpecker' and its 5 escort corvettes. Use the escort corvettes to strip down enemy armor with massed 200mm recoiless rifle rounds, while the ETC-equipped cruiser draw and return fire with 220mm AP shells to pierce and destroy their internal components.

Your optimal engagement range is 4 - 5 km, to a maximum of 6.8 km (without the recoiless rifles). As a burst-damange ambush fleet, utilize rock cover to hide your presence until the enemy is in this range, then quickly move out to unleash your stream of projectiles while covering yourself with an insane amount of radar jamming by the corvettes Blanc and Noir. However, beware of blind corners, railgun rounds, and the positioning of enemy beam and craft bomber assets, as this fleet itself is vulnerable to being counter-ambushed under 5 km and rail sniping over 8 km.

This fleet benefits from careful management of the Etcavatha's heading and flexible use of radar jammers on the Blanc and Noir. You can either bombard your foes with so much jamming from both ships that they can't even get lock on you in visual range, or stay further out and alternate between the two ships for a continuous and indefinite jamming coverage.

To further cover against missiles and crafts, a wall of kinetic and energy point defense turrets is included on both the cruiser and its escorts, supplemented by more a extensive set of soft-kill decoys and anti-hybrid/anti-craft missiles on the cruiser.

Additionally, the individual corvettes can be detached for capping and scouting to provide enhanced mission flexibility. Only do this if absolutely needed or if the cruiser is taken out of the fight, as it is very weak and vulnerable without its escorts.
