The light from the player's flashlight is brighter and farther

At the request of users in the comments, I narrowed the beam of light a little, and also balanced the brightness a little so that the rest of the game doesn't become too dark compared to the flashlight light.

За проханням користувачів в коментарях я трохи звузив пучок світла, а також дещо збалансував яскравість, щоб решта гри не ставала занадто темною в порівнянні зі світлом ліхтарика.

The strength of the flashlight beam is a function of the developers intersecting ideas on storytelling, atmosphere and difficulty- typically. Realism shouldn't be the goal.

The very idea is that the player is not supposed to be (at least initally) capable of having a wide enough arc nor far enough of illuminated surroundings to feel safe in the darkness.

But I am on the fence about it, gameplay considerations like these that are meant to increase 'difficulty' but really end up feeling like an onerous limitation despite it being quite intentional.

People are going to have tastes and preferences that don't follow that though and its fine, I am one of those players too.

great idea. the vanilla flashlight is unrealistically weak imho, and the long cast shadows from a big light source adds a lot of atmosphere. i think the devs meant to add flashlight upgrades to the game but it didn't happen.

toledos, The flashlight can be made to cast indirect lighting by simulating the second bounce of a photon in Lumen. But Lumen itself works in software mode in the game, and surfaces accumulate indirect lighting for a long time. Therefore, indirect lighting from the flashlight is rendered on surfaces not immediately, but gradually, and causes many artifacts, as well as sags performance.

Can the light source interact with lumen GI? If so, are the parameters for increasing bounce exposed? Just checking before I download 700GB zone kit lol.

Хотілось би такий же мод, але в половину менше світла. В оригіналі дуже слабкий, а тут вже перебір. Хоченться щось між оригіналом і цим варіантом. Можливо зроби ще один варіант?
