Description

First, i started with the face model. My goal was to develop Gordon’s face from the hla model to match the typical face we're familiar with from hl2 portraits. Before hla came out, one of the best attempts at this was by “paynamia,” whose gordon was honestly the best at the time.
Anyway, i adapted the phenotype by making some changes: the cheeks were made slightly slimmer, the eyebrows raised a bit, and so on. I added new, more fitting hair and eyebrows, improved the glasses for better consistency, and refined the eyes and beard. The shape keys were among the most time-consuming parts.
When i moved on to texturing, i blended some ai generated images to achieve a bit more realistic textures. For the eyes, i created something more detailed to avoid the robotic look of the original.
Then i made small model-based changes to the familiar scientist clothes and combined everything. Although my concept is based on hl1, i needed to take some references from the rtx suit in the new hl2 rtx game to create mark IV ,,, a kind of sub-version that feels like it belongs there. For this, i imported the suit into blender, adjusting only weights and distinguishing plastic and metal materials, and added it as a bonus hl2 Gordon model (it will be part of "Half-LaG II").

Later, creating the mark IV took me quite some time, probably about 15-20 days. To make it look like a consistent variant from the same origin, i left some parts reminiscent of the RTX version. Since "Isaac Kleiner" developed it with limited resources, it had to feel consistent.
For the textures, i used ai to create similar materials to those used in the rtx metals. Although many came out inconsistent, i selected the ones that fit best.
And as a little extra, i’ve included something called "g10_animations",,, basically some well-known source 2 animations tweaked to work better with source.
That’s pretty much what I remember.





HLA Gordon Freeman (Head Model):
The head model was adapted and improved based on the Gordon Freeman character from Half-Life Alyx.
I reconstructed the mesh in Blender, aiming to resemble the face from the Half-Life 2 posters.
All rights belong to Valve.
Used here in a fan project for non-commercial purposes.

Half-Life 2 RTX HEV Suit Model:
The HEV suit model is taken from the Half-Life 2 RTX remake project.
I adjusted the weights in Blender and combined it with the previously mentioned Gordon Freeman head model.
All rights belong to Orbifold Studios.
Used here in a fan project for non-commercial purposes.

@herron Thank you so much!🙏 I’m planning to do some small improvement updates when i get the chance anyway. As for the hair on the current mark V model, i made it to match the one in hl2, so it fits better with that suit. I’ve been thinking about doing something different for the mark IV version. I’ll see what i can do when the time comes..:steamthumbsup:
