In 2007, the pressure to modernize TCFR's rural firefighting was very high, station 3 which serves the northeast plains of the county needed a new engine. but then disaster struck, a rare EF-2 tornado formed, the engine at station 3 at the time, unfortunetly broke down while responding, thus forcing Craig rural fire department to step in. the break down caused a late response and several properites were destroyed. 3 months later, TCFR bought a new engine to replace the old engine 303. To this day, engine 303 has responded to over 1,800 calls, has almost flipped while responding to a call. while it may not be the newest engine today, it gets the job done right.
