Description
Role: Ambush - Frontline - Scouting - Capping | Difficulty: HARD

Overview

Based on the corvette swarm archetype by IMC (gnomeRemover, iriS-xe, Solus and Serial Dreemur).

This is a partially ablative corvette swarm with helljamming, extended sensors and low single-point vulnerability. Sidegrade to a Triple Vauxhall fleet, trading some DPS potential for higher speed, flexibility, greater stealth, and larger map presence. Best used when your team has anchoring capital assets to hold the enemy frontline down while you use your superior speed to flank and harass the enemy backline.

Ship rundown
  • PLX-A: Parallax radar (turn off all other radars if not splitting), VLS-2 with ACMs and limited number of active decoys.
  • FLX-B: Frontline radar, Bullseye FCR, 250mm gun, Defender PDT, chaffbox.
  • 'J' series: No radar, 120mm + 250mm guns, 2 Blanket radar jammers.
  • 'H' series: No radar, 250mm gun, 2 Rebound PDTs, 1 Hangup comms jammer.
  • 'S' series: Frontline radar, 120mm + 250mm guns, 2 Defender PDTs.

Missile rundown
  • SGM-H-257 Cyclop XS: Manually-fired anti-skiff s2h (lock target and z-prio).
  • SGM-262 Breadstick: For shooting down 100mm gunship bombers (autofired).

Doctrine

Can be split into 2 balanced wings of 5 for mid-late game coverage. To split, group all 'A' suffix ships around PLX-A and all 'B' suffix ships around FLX-B. Bully light ships, harass liners and ocellos, and avoid monitors. You are fast. Treat thruster HP as a resource to spend when in tight situations.

Alternatively, a 3-3-4 split is also possible: Group PLX-A with J1 and H1; group FLX-B with J2 and H2; and finally group the four remaining 'S' series ships together or further detach them for capping.

'J' series should be protected as remaining unspotted is the key to survival. At above 7.5km, only a single jammer is needed, meaning all jammers should be cycled to maximise uptime. Remember to jamflash (momentarily jam with all available jammers, on bshort if necessary) if an ocello manages to BRN and lock you.

'H' series should be fired on primary threat to prevent standoff radars from passing tracks.

Finally, 'S' series is your primary firepower and can be detached to cap as they have Frontline radars installed.

Note: The default deployment formation is a straight convoy line to hide the fact that this is a swarm (only 1 flare shows up during deployment). Once deployed, manually reconfigure the formation into a roughly spherical blob with a radius of 300 - 350 meters.
