Ashes of Appomattox

Description
Ashes of Appomattox
The year is 1936. The world stands at a crossroads of shattered empires, fractured alliances, and smoldering rivalries. The Confederate States of America has survived and carved its place upon the world stage, but its victory came at a price—one that echoes far beyond its borders. In Europe, the old powers teeter on the brink. The British Empire strains under the burden of its global possessions, the French homeland lies under the red flag of revolutionaries, and new ideologies prepare for the battles to come.

In this alternate history overhaul for Hearts of Iron IV, players will navigate a world reshaped by Confederate independence, the collapse of the old world order, and the looming threat of global conflict. With custom national focus trees, dynamic event chains, new nations, and unique mechanics, Ashes of Appomattox offers a volatile, immersive sandbox for alternate history enthusiasts.

Playable Nations (Current Development Status)
  • Confederate States of America — Fully playable with a complete national focus tree, political paths, economic challenges, military mechanics, and dynamic events.

  • Great Britain, Mexican Empire — Partially playable. Basic framework in place. Full focus tree and events under development.

Nations outside these three are present but unplayable or lack content beyond basic AI functionality. The mod is designed for the Confederate States as the primary playable nation at this current stage of development.

Active Development Notice
Ashes of Appomattox is in active development. While the Confederate States of America offers a full gameplay experience, other nations, events, focus trees, and mechanics are still being created, refined, and tested. Players should expect incomplete content, missing localization, and placeholder mechanics outside of the Confederacy. Regular updates and improvements are planned.

Do you have plans to add content to Brazil? I get the impression that yes, but I could be wrong.

@chunkyman71 Idk, I'm very busy right now and will be for a long time. I've been working on Spain and the Kingdom of Italy though and Italy is pretty big focus tree wise.

@P3r0un I don't remember. Check your national spirits.

yeah ok got it but about mexico ? having the same problem, same mechanic ?
Mr.Burke  [author] 10 Aug @ 8:25am
@P3r0un Read your national spirits. The CSA has a starting national spirit that makes it cost 15 command power to assign army leaders to divisions.
