Description
This is a "Juggler Tank" variant that throws melee weapons. Normally,tank only throws rock, but this one can throw melee. So, basically this is an "all-round" tank that can do short & long ranged attacks.


List of features available on "juggler tank - melee thrower.txt" cfg file:
  1. Tank Variant Spawn Chance: The spawn chance of this tank variant.

  2. Melee Throw Chance: The chance of throwing melee every 2 seconds.

  3. Follow Difficulty Level: This controls whether the damage of melee throw will be flat 15 damage on all difficulty levels or based on difficulty level (Easy= 5, Normal= 10, Advanced= 20, Expert= 40).

  4. Spawn Notification: Enabled by default. This controls whether the spawn notification will show up or not.


Mechanisms of "Juggler Tank - Melee Thrower":
  • This tank variant will spawn based on the spawn chance on "Tank Variant Spawn Chance".

  • This tank has a darker yellow color compared to normal tank.

  • This tank throws random melee weapons every 2 seconds when taking damage. The melee throw chance is controlled by "Melee Throw Chance" (Examples: If it's set to 100, every 2 seconds, he will throw random melee. If it's set to 30, every 2 seconds, he has 30% chance to throw random melee).

  • The melee throw damage is based on "Follow Difficulty Level".Here's the table for the damage comparisons:
    FOLLOW DIFFICULTY LEVEL = 0
    FOLLOW DIFFICULTY LEVEL = 1
    - 15 damage
    (all difficulty levels)
    - Easy = 5 damage
    - Normal = 10 damage
    - Advanced = 20 damage
    - Expert = 40 damage

  • The melee thrown by tank will be covered in fire, to make it easier to notice.

  • This melee can detect survivors & zombies. It means that the moment this melee hits a survivor or zombie, it will deal damage.

  • When a survivor takes damage from this melee, the melee will disappear immediately & the survivor will stumble.

  • This melee deals splash damage in melee range. It means that if 2 or more survivors are standing close to each other, they will take damage at the same time.

  • This melee kills common instantly, & won't dissapear even after hitting multiple common.

  • This melee will stumble a witch.

  • Special infected teammates are immune to this melee throw.

  • This melee will disappear in 2 seconds after being thrown by tank.

  • Tips for survivors: Don't run straight in line when chased by this tank, as it will make it easier for him to throw melee at you. Run in zig-zag while staying cautious of the thrown melee.

  • Tips for tank: Keep looking at one closest survivor. The closer the survivor is to you, the much higher success chance for the melee throw to land on the survivor.


So, prepare yourself for a gorilla throwing some melee at you.


NOTES:
  • As the thrown melee uses "weapon_melee_spawn", survivors may be able to get a free melee when they time it well to press E when the thrown melee is in pickup radius, just before the damage & stumble are triggered. Note that you may still take damage even after catching tank's thrown melee.

Honestly, the tank somehow carrying around a bunch of tools and hardware in his back pocket to throw still makes more sense than him being able to rip a boulder out of solid steel floors and clay shingled roofs.

@Unsants , actually it's possible to change the size of the throwable melee :steamhappy: . But that will be like an illusion, because it only looks large, while the original size remains the same.

It reminds me of a plugin where the tank carries a large melee weapon :steammocking:
