(Not an actual JRandall build - just inspired by!)

The Kriel Weevil is a moderately expensive upgradable starter mining CV with upgrade potential to Core 5. It was designed to upgrade to sub-optimal laser drills from industrial drills, bore through asteroids with minor user adjustment, and be capable of High-G landings, giving the ship extensibility well into midgame while functioning as a runabout and warp miner.

A generous hangar supports 2-3 small to midsized SV/HVs to augment your start into the Galaxy. The Weevil is equipped with a small compact shield with upgraded through shield boosters. As such this is not a combat vessel and should not engage in serious combat outside of a defensive nature. Installed turrets will protect against drones. The ship is however chain-resistant to reduce catastrophic losses.

Update: 18JUL2025

Signal logic re-worked. Automatic low-power mode removed and offloaded to a toggle switch. Additional signal logic toggles added to support mining on/off, drone defense, constructor groups, and upgrade LCD toggles (thank you JRandall).
