Often mistaken for an AK-47 clone due to its similar silhouette, the Sa vz. 58 is a Czechoslovak-designed assault rifle introduced in 1958. Despite its appearance, it shares no internal parts with the AK. Chambered in 7.62×39mm, the vz. 58 uses a short-stroke gas piston and a tilting breechblock, making it lighter and more mechanically refined. Featuring a milled receiver, side-folding stock, and unique charging handle, it was a favorite of Czech forces and export clients during the Cold War. In tight hands, the vz. 58 is a fast, reliable, and deadly companion.
