F/A-3E "Merlin" Multirole Parasite Fighter

Description
The F/A-3E Merlin is a Multirole Parasite Fighter made for the Whack Al Build Challenge. It is very small and nimble and features most of the features you would expect from a Fighter Jet.

!!! This Description will be expandeed on, this is just a placeholder !!!

!!! Disclaimer the Carrier featured in the second screenshot is not released yet !!!
The Carrier will be released when it is ready to be released. Whack has spent a lot of time on it and is pretty far in developing it. I personally wouldnt want a half finished carrier just so that the carrier gets relesed a few weeks earlier. If you have more questions or want more frequent and up to date Updates on the carriers development feel free to join the Whack Al Discord Server

Auto Docking and Auto Landing:

The Auto Docking and Auto Landing features are made to work with Whack Als Flying Carrier and Micro Carrier.
These 2 Systems Guide you into the Docking station or the Landing strip on. To make sure that they work correctly follow these steps:

Auto Docking:
Setup in the Carrier:
- Set the Throttle to a number in the high 50s (do not go above 59.9 due to the afterburner engaging at that point)
- Engage the Altitude Hold
- Get in to the Docking Operators seat in the cockpit of the carrier.
- Select the Hardpoint to which you want to dock.
- Set the Radio Channel to 89
- Get out of the seat and lower the hardpoint that you want to connect to (The controls for that are on the roof of the cockpit)

In the plane:

!!! Disclaimer !!! This should be done at a min distance of about 400m and whilst flying behind the carrier and preferably facing the general direction of the carrier tho the system can account for these it doesnt miss as often when it has enough distance to stabilize and doesnt have to change as muchg about the planes attitude and heading.

-Enable Auto Docking

Once Docked:
- Make sure the Auto Docking has disengaged
- Turn Off the Engine
- Press the Raise/Lower Carrier Arm button which is close to the Auto Docking button
Now you should be docked to the plane and can exit the plane by pressing 2 which opens the canopy

Incase the Auto Docking misses:
- Disengage the Auto Docking fly around to behind the carrier and reenable it.

Auto Landing:

Setup on the Carrier:
- Set the throttle to its maximum.
- Enable the transmission of physics data
- Set the Radio Channel to 89 (both of these 2 controls can be found on the right side of the bridge)

In the Plane:

!!! Disclaimer !!! This should be done at a min distance of about 800m and whilst flying behind the carrier and preferably facing the general direction of the carrier tho the system can account for these it doesnt miss as often when it has enough distance to stabilize and doesnt have to change as muchg about the planes attitude and heading. The Auto Landing feature is still a WIP tho it did work when i tested it.

- Enable Auto Landing
- Enable Brakes

Once you have touched down:
- Immediatly turn off the engine

Incase the Auto Landing misses:
- Disengage the Auto Landing fly around to behind the carrier and reenable it.

If it constantly misses please go through the steps again and make sure that you didnt miss a step and if it still isnt working feel free to contact me.

When trying to take off, it starts spinning and fails to take off.

im curious how the auto landing will work is it going to be full auto or are we going to have to do something

I felt like adding zoom buttons to the map would reduce the visible are even more which is why I decided against it tho it should be more zoomed out which I will update soon.
The center display is a front facing tracking radar aswell as engine rps and fuel percent display. It can also be switched to be used as a docking camera.
I tried fixing the roll coupling though I couldn’t find the reason for it
I hope this helps you out.
Please keep in mind that this is a micro fighter so I didn’t have the space to make all of the systems as complex as you might find them on a big jet. I hope you still enjoy my creation

@zero thanks for your feedback
I fixed the tpod not having power in a recent update tho steam sometimes doesn’t update the actual file. I will test it out later.
The plane driving away isn’t an issue I personally had whilst testing. What physics setting were you on, my plane is usually made to work with high physics detail.
The tpods tracking is a feature made by Stormworks itself and I can’t really change anything about how it behaves. I don’t have any hidden blocks anywhere near it that could confuse it.

tpod has no power
tpod track doesnt work (seems to be blocked by a subgrid or something)
what does the center display even do
roll coupling with pitch (when you pitch, the roll gets more aggressive)
map is kinda useless as the micro doesnt even seem complete (no zoom, only compass basically)

alr first impression is its taxiing away from me
