Azur Lane - USS Anchorage (PM & NPCs)

USS Anchorage (BP-44) was a planned but never bulit American heavy cruiser during the war with the empire of Japan. In early 1940, the U.S. Navy began construction of the Baltimore-class heavy cruisers. At the same time, the U.S. Navy learned that the Japanese Navy was in the process of replacing the 155mm main guns of its Chokai-class cruisers with 203mm main guns. After the upgrade, the Chokai-class cruisers would have a firepower advantage over the Baltimore-class and New Orleans-class cruisers. To gain a decisive firepower advantage over Japan, the U.S. Navy's Bureau of Ships began designing new cruisers in July 1940 and submitted two improved designs for the Baltimore-class cruisers, CA-A and CA-B, in September. The CA-C design was developed in March 1941. These designs represented another developmental direction for U.S. heavy cruisers.
