Mizuki Akiyama

The expressive and carefree but mature animator from Nightcord at 25:00, Mizuki Akiyama, has joined the Fray as a new playable fighter!

Arriving from Project Sekai: Coloful Stage ft. Hatsune Miku (or Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage), Mizuki has arrived to express everything they've felt! With their big disjointed moves and colorful array of attacks, they're here to whip up something new! And that's no secret to be withheld!

Sprites and animations were all created from the ground up by myself! Shoutout to Nyon for helping create the Mizuki Akiyama render, SkysKyosuke for helping with coding for NSpec and USpec, and many thanks to a bunch of others in the McLeodGaming discord for helping out with the project as well!

Some useful fact while playing Mizuki:

-The tip of Mizuki's ribbon, staff, umbrella, and sword are also sweet spots, with the hilts being sour spots, with the exception of Neutral Air.
-You can hold Mizuki's Dash Attack animation to keep them laying on the ground.
-Mizuki's Grab is slow but reaches far.

SPECIAL MOVES:

Neutral Special: Shape Roulette

Mizuki holds up their left hand, causing shapes to appear and rotate in and out in a fixed pattern. You can store charges for this move by pressing the shield button or the jump button. Each shape has a different use and effect.
-Circle (Stage 1): Rolls along the floor and deals minimal damage and knockback.
-Digon (Stage 2): Flies straight forward moderately quickly and deals moderate damage and knockback.
-Triangle (Stage 3): Flies diagonally upwards before swinging around in a boomerang position, hitting opponents multiple times.
-Square (Stage 4): Travels up in an arc before slamming down into the ground, burying any opponents on the floor and knocking them upwards straight after.
-Pentagon (Stage 5): Bounces at a low trajectory across the floor, knocking any opponents upwards.
-Hexagon (Stage 6): Creates a reflector around Mizuki for a couple of seconds, reflecting any projectiles that come in contact with it.
-Heptagon (Stage 7): Flies forward at a slow pace and does low damage, but stuns opponents for a while, allowing for followups.
-Octagon (Stage 8): Flies forward at a fast pace and does heavy damage and knockback.
Before throwing the shape, Mizuki has the option to turn around.

Side Special: It's Okay To Run Away

Mizuki turns around and walks into SEKAI behind them, before reappearing a set distance later. This move has two different hits: A strong hit when they're walking into SEKAI, and a weak hit when reappeaing. While in SEKAI, Mizuki is completely invincible.

Up Special: Cursor Cruisin'

A mouse cursor appears above Mizuki, who then grabs ahold of it and hangs from one hand for a set amount of time. In this span of time, Mizuki can move freely around the map in 8 directions, before letting go and falling. Mizuki is unable to act when in this move.

Down Special: Sword Slashes/Falling Sword Stab

Mizuki takes out a sword and holds it behind them, before assuming a defensive stance. This is a chargeable move that gets stronger and has more multihits the longer you charge it for. Mizuki can turn around when throwing out the slashes, as well as before throwing out the final sword slash. When used in the air, Mizuki takes out the sword and holds it above their head, before swinging it downward and falling straight down with it. This move has a spike towards the beginning, and has an outwards hit after that. This move also has a landing hitbox when landing on the ground with it. While falling, Mizuki can input Side Special and Up Special to cancel the falling stab and instead perform those moves respectively.
