Beskrivelse
It costs very few production, and you can obtain the units without unlocking technology and strategic resources!

Only one city of you can carry out this project at the same time.
Pay a lump sum equivalent to 10% of your Gold yield in this turn plus 5% of your current Treasury's Gold.
Spawn 2 units corresponding to the current Era (Without Technology Requirement). The unit type is randomly selected from: Melee, Anti-Cavalry, Ranged, Light Cavalry, Heavy Cavalry, or Siege unit.
Mercenary Unit Properties:
Do not consume Population.
Do not inherit any Buffs or Debuffs from the city where they were recruited.
Exempt from Strategic Resource maintenance costs.
Each Mercenary unit costs an additional Gold per turn, based on the current Game Era:
Ancient Era: 2 Gold, Each subsequent Era: Cost increases by 2 Gold.
Combat Modifiers:
-3 Combat Strength when fighting units at full Health.
+10 Combat Strength when fighting units with Health below 80.

If i may drop a suggestion, flavor wise, all but the last two sentences make enough sense. If there merceneries wouldn't it make more sense if they were random unique units from other civs? Like why use these vs making your own units ?
