This simple mod provides the ability to upgrade and build Venators with a complement of V-wings and ARC-170s to better match the lore at the end of the game.

VENATOR STAR DESTOYER: ADVANCED LOADOUT
Droid Star-fighters BEWARE, these Venator Star Destroyers have been provided with the latest fighters developed for the Republic. These iconic warships are able to ensure fighter superiority whereever they may be stationed.
COMPLEMENT: 2/6 V-Wing Squadron, 1/2 ARC-170 Squadron

Narrative Intent: Something that is bugging me about the current version of AOTCW is how few ships carry tech 3 fighters (V wings and ARC 170s). I recently re-downloaded the mod to specifically use those fighters, and I immediately became frustrated by how unobtainable these fighters are even after investing 30k credits on max fighter tech.

I’m at the end of the game, completed all the tech, so why can’t I use these? It is non-negotiable that Venators carried these fighters, so why aren’t we given the option?

It feels like the intention is to make V-wings an incredibly rare sight at the very end of the clone wars. However, I just don’t think that’s the case. V-wings appear constantly in the background at every point throughout episode 3, let alone arc -170s appearing throughout the clone wars tv show as well. This leads me to believe that these fighters were a lot more common in the lore than AOTCW presents.

Balance wise, I just don’t see that much of an advantage by investing in tech 3 fighters. 30k credits is a massive investment, and the player should reap the rewards and have a return. If there really needs to be a counter balance for the CIS to have Venators carry V-wings, so be it, but let the lore act out like it literally shows on screen.

Therefore, I created this submod. Please leave a comment if you are having any issues and I will fix it as soon as I can. If I get around to it, I thought it would be creative to implement command arquitens that would carry 1/0 V-Wing Squadrons, similar to how they would carry Tie fighters only a few years later.

Tbh, I'll probably add this to the description: this mod not only serves to "add to the lore", but also to do a few functional-gameplay things for the player that I think, improves QOL.
1: This loadout provides the player the ability to have access to tech 3 fighters without needing other techs beyond tech 1 capital ships (Venator).
2: To give the ability to "focus" on fighter technology. There are many ways to deal with fighters for both factions, but for some reason, a fighter focus is not allowed.
This was as much of a game-play improvement as much as it is an aesthetic choice.

Great mod idea, though to be completely fair to the AOTCW devs, I think the idea they're going for is faithfulness to Revenge of the Sith and to some extent the older, non-TCW Clone Wars Multimedia Project at all costs. V-wings and ARC-170s pretty much didn't enter service until the last one or two months of the war, and their only appearance in G-Canon is ROTS, which is set in the last week of the war, so it makes sense that it's hard to get a hold of them in the late-game.

It seems like the Kuat/Rothana discount doesnt apply to this Venator loadout

Smart idea I like it... My problem is that the Venators are carriers and people tend to have maybe 2-3 squads deploy at a time, I think it be more fair if they dropped like 2 squads of V-Wings, 2 squads of Arc 170s and maybe 1 bomber squad maybe 2 but I think 2 be pushing it. Reason for that is because the CIS Luhker ships carry a ton of fighters and bombers, yes corvettes can pick them apart but the pop cap for space battles is the struggle, too low can't do much but if its too high I get overwhelmed and then get spammed by an incredibly insane fleet that tears mine apart with 3-4 donut ships shredding me despite my many different tactics.
