Caterpillar 3408 Turbo Diesel V8

Description
This is reproduction of a Caterpillar 3408 V8, by SRX Inc.

The 3409 was a poweful turbo diesel 4-stroke V8 produced in the 1970s and 1980s.
It was used in a variety of applications, including marine vessels, on and off highway trucks, and generators, being the largest displacement highway truck engine Caterpillar has ever produced.

Specs:
- 18 liters, 1100cu
- 675HP
- 2,000+ lb-ft of torque

This engine uses the All-New MECH ALPHA II ECM from V-Force.

While you can use this in anything of your choosing, i built and tested this engine using the Fingo TX9980 Glider Kit ,it does fit nicely in a TX9980, as seen in the above picture.

This engine is free to be used in your creations, but please put a link to this on it, thank you!

Thanks, i'm sure there are better ways, but i usually use a medium generator to compare power output in S-watts.

This is great! Question - how do you measure the power output? I've been looking for a "dyno" of some-sort and most of them are inconsistent with the power output. Thanks again.

i mean its pretty straight forward bro, take an engine, take a transmission put them in a truck hook up the microcontrollers im not sure what you're asking
TheGaboon 25 Jul @ 5:08pm
I'm not exactly sure how to use these and the transmissions you've made with the glider kits

Yeah, just like @PsychtoicPunk said i myself just recently started learning how to xml edit blocks. Just save a sigular block or window or whatever you want as a vehicle, and go to the vehicles folder and open the .xml file, its under appdata>roaming>stormworks>data>vehicles
PsychoticPunk 25 Jul @ 11:32am
start by taking just window or smth, go into your vehicles folder for SW, and open the XML in notepad for what you saved it as. Then from there you can play around with the XML values for each piece so you can learn how it works and soon enough you'll have it figured out and be able do whatever you want with the XML script.
