Chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO, it became one of the most widely used military rifles of the Cold War era, adopted by over 90 countries. Known for its reliability, ruggedness, and powerful full-sized cartridge, the FAL earned its nickname as "The Right Arm of the Free World."
