PM — The Soviet Sidearm
The PM (Pistolet Makarova) is a compact Soviet semi-automatic pistol adopted in 1951 as the standard sidearm of the USSR. Chambered in 9×18mm Makarov, it was designed for simplicity, reliability, and ease of use in harsh conditions. The PM saw widespread service throughout the Eastern Bloc and remains in use even today in many countries. Though limited in magazine capacity and stopping power, it earned respect for its durability and straightforward mechanics.
