CZ Vz. 82 — The Czech Sidearm of the Cold War
The Vz. 82 is a compact Czech military pistol adopted in 1983 for the armed forces of Czechoslovakia. Chambered in 9×18mm Makarov, it stands out for its ambidextrous controls, chrome-lined barrel, and polygonal rifling, which offered better accuracy and longevity. Unlike its Soviet counterpart (the PM), the Vz. 82 had a double-stack 12-round magazine, giving it a higher capacity. Rugged and reliable, it became a favorite among Eastern Bloc officers and is still valued by collectors and shooters today.
