M16A4 — The Last Classic of the M16 Lineage
The M16A4 is the fourth and final mainline iteration of the iconic M16 rifle family. Adopted by the U.S. military in the early 2000s, it features a flat-top receiver with Picatinny rail, allowing for modern optics and accessories. Chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO, it retains semi-auto and 3-round burst fire modes. Rugged, accurate, and modular, the M16A4 served in Iraq and Afghanistan, favored for its precision over longer ranges. Though slowly replaced by shorter carbines, it remains a symbol of classic U.S. military firepower.
