That's how the Portal Gun works! You might notice your clothes look different - They're fall resistent, meaning you can't break any bones in this suit, and it's called the Physics-Resistence Suit. Now, I should mention, sometimes there can be black walls. It means you can't shoot a portal there! Since we're working with quantum physics, the Portals can only be shot at areas with high intensity of color.
