Seoul Metro 9000 series

Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation's Line 9 rolling stock is classified as 9000 series. In 2009, 24 four-car trains, were introduced to coincide with the opening of the first phase of Line 9. A total of 48 trains, consisting of 12 four-car trains, were introduced in 2011. They were originally planned to be manufactured in response to the increased number of carriages required for the extension of Line 9's second section, but were introduced earlier than planned due to the significant congestion on the line. Due to the increased number of carriages required for the extension and opening of the third section of Line 9, eight four-car trains and 38 carriages in total were manufactured from 2016 onwards. There are few differences from the first and second batches, but the seat moquettes have been changed and the interior lighting has been made brighter. To ease congestion on Line 9 and increase the number of carriages required due to the extension of the fourth section of Line 9, a total of 48 carriages were introduced 2023, consisting of eight six-car trains. The shape of the front skirts is different, and the carriages are now equipped with pure electric brakes. Additionally, the color of the handrails inside the carriages has changed from yellow to gray, lights have been installed above the boarding and alighting doors, and wireless chargers have also been installed.
