Jormungandr HvyDD

Description
Jormundgandr Heavy Destroyer

Mass: 5 mil kg
Acceleration: 1.5 m/s^2
Weapons: 5 gatling guns, 13 Missile Launchers, 4 Rocket Launchers, 30 Anti-Missile Systems
Ammunition Storage: 52 small containers, 2 large containers

The Jormungandr was created to be a heavy version of the Nidhoggr. Although based on the design, it quickly gained a personality all its own. The Jormungandr is a combination of heavy armor and weapons in a slow yet manueverable package. It often serves the fleet by supporting Nidhoggrs on patrol operations when heavier support is needed. However, the ship is quite capable in its own right, and often sees action in deep space as well.

One of my absolute favorite ship designs. I'd love to see a refit of her - Swap to a large reactor, get oxygen, maybe an airlock system of some sort. The ship is visually stunning, spacious and capable in combat already, just needs a refit.

these kinds of issues have plagued SE from the first introduction of rotors. it's why i typically avoid moving parts in my ships, with a few exceptions. until rotors are better or replaced with something better, i'd just say either remove the panels or fly cautiously.

After some investigation, it seems that inertia will cause the solar panels to fly off the rotors. When the solar panels fly off, the turrets shoot them as they are no longer a part of the ship. Even with the turrets set to not shoot at moving objects, the solar panels will fly off and cause a fair amount of damage to the ship.

I have to say, your ships are awesome. I do wish you would put some of your ships in as blueprints instead of worlds, but I am interested to check out some of your worlds anyway.

As for this ship, it is amazing. I do have one small hiccup with it though. Every time I turn too fast or something like that, it randomly destroys itself. And I'm talking massive damage. It just explodes all down the sides. Someone else here posted that they were having troubles with the turrets. I may try turning them off and playing with their settings to see if that is what is going on for me too.

they are blueprints, you access them via the ctrl + B menu in-game

Some of your ships like this one will not go into my workshop

quite possible. the turret AI is still not the smartest thing around...
though you could just use the rotors to raise the panels

for me, when i was moving and the turrets are on they will destroy my solar panels. is this only with me? or does somewhone have this aswell?
