Multiplayer Mods Workaround

Description
Workaround to convince Civ 5 to allow multiplayer games with mods. This is NOT user-friendly, but it's what we've got.

Potential User Friendly Tool: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/mppatch-easy-modded-multiplayer.617806/ . It's a bit glitchy and doesn't support DLL mods, but it may work for you. Otherwise, keep reading.

Requires BOTH Gods and King and Brave New World.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: this download only enables you try to make your own multiplayer mods pack. It does NOT automatically make multiplayer mods work. Once you have downloaded, read the instructions at: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=533238 (or check out the pictures above).

Note: If you are using a mod with custom DLL, trying to make a multilanguage mod, or are just having problems, the civfanatics link has more comprehensive instructions and troubleshooting. Or, post a comment below and I may answer.

[I am getting a LOT of questions about an issue where the error message "attempt to call field 'DeleteMPMP' (a nil value)" appears. If this is a problem for you, please click the thread above and read through the directions for DLL files (and possibly take the step advised in Troubleshooting Step 3. I know it's a pain, but I can't do much about it...

There is a known bug involving certain mods with : in their name. I will try to fix it when I can.]

Based on preliminary work from Gedemon. I DID NOT start this (though I and others have made improvements).

Making a pack requires PC, but using a made pack tolerates any mixture of PCs and Macs. [https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=361391109 is the version you want if you want non-English and multilanguage support; I will update the steam workshop version when I next get on the right computer]

Alternatively, try out the pre-made mod packs list below:

Everyone who wants to join a multiplayer mod game must do the following, and use the same pack. The pack must be removed again to play regular civ 5. When starting a game with fake dlc pack, use the normal multiplayer menu (NOT the mods menu).

Windows:
1. Copy paste the folder into Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\assets\DLC.

MAC:
You will probably have to use command+shift+period to reveal hidden files.
1. Navigate to Macintosh HD/Users/{Username}/Libraries/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization V
2. Right_click > Civlization V > Show Package Contents
3. Place dlc folder in Contents/Home/Assets/DLC

Linux: As pointed out by a commenter:

"Also, the Mod Packs do work on Linux, you have to convert filenames to all lowercase (as Linux is case sensitive). See https://github.com/Gedemon/Civ5-MultiPlayer-ModsPack-Maker/issues/1"

I'm enjoying single players on mpmpm. But some mods don't work. For example, IGE or music-related modes. help me, I'm using a translator, so please understand

Can't get the firetuner to actually connect despite my firewall being off and firetuner was recently enabled in the config ini. Any ideas?

There's a lot of stuff in there, too much to list, but I have tested that it at least loads up correctly in a "local" game by myself, and have tested a proper internet game with other people in a slightly older build of the pack, so it *should* be fine!

Okay, actually, I was wrong about one thing: you *can* add mods that mess with UI without breaking everything (specifically, I have added "Extra Victory Conditions" by Barbarian King and "Vanilla Policy Trees Restored" by Iska and Ismet), but meanwhile a mod to add Christopher Tin as a Great Musician broke everything - either because it was coded in SQL instead of XML or Lua, OR because it made calls to the "Sapien" mod/pack. (It was not a DLL mod, either)

Also, further good news: I do not have to turn off my Antivirus for the MPMPmaker to compile quickly, so I believe that step is outdated and doesn't need to be followed!

Just to let people know since it seems people don't realise, yes it *does* work, but you either have to be selective about mods you add (i.e. just civs has worked for me and my friends without breaking, but adding UI-altering mods like more policy trees breaks it) or learn how to fix the code via the instructions link posted under the "VERY IMPORTANT NOTE" section.

It does indeed work, though there's some mods that are incompatible and mods which changes the DLL requires some additional steps (All which you can find in the second link in the mod's description.)

The amount of comments make me feel that this mod doesn't work, could someone confirm or deny if it works at all? If not, this needs to be removed, ideally.
