If you still search for resizing a particle, you need to spawn it, right click it and click the last option available, can't remember it name, after that you re right click on the particle and click "Edit particle system definition" after that a menu will pop up, at the left there are categories, under the "Initializer" categorie there's something called "Radius random" click it, go in the middle thingi in the menu and scroll down to "radius_min", now change the number and it will resize your particle!
