PMC Versus mission pack #4: Oriens [SP/CO-10]
24 items
Description
SP/MP-Coop (10) compatible. Fourth mission in the series.

Mission
PMC Versus operators will neutralize as many enemy threats as possible in Berezniki before the NATO's assault begins. The operators will then assist the NATO forces in seizing four key positions in the town: the church, the hospital, the trainyard and the town hall.

Situation
June 10th, 2003: two days ago the NATO main advance reached the outskirts of the town of Berezniki thanks to the efforts of PMC Versus operators. Berezniki is one of the key locations in controlling northern Podagorsk and the NATO local high command (callsign Red Crown) wants the town under NATO control. The main assault commences at 0200 hours. PMC Versus operators (callsign November) will scout and neutralize any enemy threats in the town before the main assault begins. Primary targets are anti-air and anti-armor threats.

Upon receiving the order 15 mikes from now, NATO ground attack planes (callsign Carbon) will assault the enemy alpha victors in town from the north-west and the mechanized infantry (callsign Cutlass) from the north-east. NATO combat divers (callsign Viper) will seize and hold the church.

After the immediate enemy resistance has been neutralized, November will be responsible in the seizing of the other key points in the town: the hospital, the trainyard and the town hall.

The commission for this operation is 33,000 dollars.

Enemy
NATO scouts have confirmed that the СРГА forces have relocated at least two SPAAGs to the town after the destruction of the Shilkas two days ago. The enemy also has other alpha victors present as well as at least a platoon sized force of infantry. The church area is believed to serve as a CP and resistance there is likely light. Snipers have been spotted around the hospital.

Red Crown advices November to use the cover of darkness and NV equipment to scout enemy positions and not to try to engage the enemy too soon before the main assault. Red Crown suggest November to draw the enemy forces away from their fortified positions just before the assault begins thus putting November into a difficult position but making the assault easier for the NATO forces. November reminds Red Crown with all due respect to mind his own business.

Also would like to comment, I really enjoyed your mission, but when spawning in everyone on your team including yourself have the wrong magazines for the rifles. So everyone start with no rounds.

Late as usual with the feedback, but here it is:

We failed that first part of the mission so hard. We tried to scout, thinking we were safe in the darkness, but a lot of enemies had NVG's. They saw us coming 200m away, and chased us out with our tail between the legs. Didn't get a single threat to armor or air.

When the NATO started their assault, they were absolutely destroyed in first 15 seconds. A10 didn't even make a proper fly above the city, it already crashed and burned, armor completely melted at that first crossroad. The only survivor was a lone Bradley that somehow managed to roll over his vehicle upside down, a bit before the crossroad.

Which was very lucky for us, since it was loaded with javelins, and a lot of other useful stuff, but javelins mostly saved the day.

Took some time, and patience (I get really antsy after I hit 1h15m mark in any mission), but we did it: http://imgur.com/nr7DElB ---> (I don't think I ever sat that long in an Arma mission)

Cool mission!

In this mission I had one of the most immersive moments I had in Arma 3. We took cover in the barn, fighting BTRs while the A-10s were strafing the town. An awesome moment!

Great fun moving through the town in the darkness and hiding from the enemy vehicles. Thanks
