Cluster Plant

Description
Note:

This mod is out of date and hasn't been maintained in a while. An
updated version Cluster Plant. Reborn! created by Zarklord has far improved functionalities and bug fixes to content added after I stopped maintaining this mod.

Thanks for updating the mod Zarklord! And thanks to everyone else for trying this out.

FINAL(ish) UPDATE:
I'm officially dropping support for this mod. It's been a long while since I've played DST and life and other interests take up the majority of my time. It's still functional as of this writing with a few missing features I'll list here in case anyone wants to pick it up development of the mod and implement them. Thanks to everyone who enjoyed this mod and hopefully it'll remain usable in the forseeable future.

Missing features as of 11July2016
  • Twiggy trees don't have clusters, they have a slightly different implementation so some digging into how to implement the cluster is required.
  • Some of the new berry bushes aren't implemented.
  • A cluster preview hasn't been implemented, this was often requested but could never figure out a way to make it work without breaking other mods.

Plant things, in clusters!

What it does:

Adds recipes to the refine tab to allow for planting grass, saplings, pinecones, and berrybushes in clusters.

How to use:

After installing and launching the game, configure the Cluster Plant mod in the mods menu. Choose the grid size and secondary resource scale, hit apply and play!

In the game, hover over the recipes in the refine tab. Meet the requirements and plant away!

Note: On the secondary resource scale, the base number is the grid size (so 3x3 would be 9, 5x5 would be 25) the scale is multiplied by the base number. So a 3x3 with a 100% scale will be 1*(3*3) = 9. The result is the number of secondary resources required to craft the recipe in game.

Why this was made:

I was tired of misclicking things while planting fields of things. Also, I wanted to learn how to modify things for fun.

Special thanks:

Klei Entertainment - for making a fantastically modular game.

rezecib - for answering all my silly questions on the forums

DoAS - my soon-to-be test subject for clusters of burning trees

Other:

Feel free to modify/redistribute this mod as you like.

Known bugs
(will try to fix as time and knowledge permits):

  • Grass cluster is currently using the flowers planting preview because dug_grass doesn't have a hover animation

Latest Update:

07January16 - v0.9.7.1
  • FIXED: Birchnut tree refinement name now displays properly.

@Zarklord Awesome, put up a note in the descriptions to point people in your direction. Thanks for updating the mod and adding functionality I never could figure out. Also apologies if you had to look through the silly comment code =P.

I found this after taking way too long to line up my plants. This mod is extremely helpful, thank you for making it!!

@Themind41 From my limited testing, the trees after planting the clusters are working like if you just planted a single one from the game. There might be some mod conflicts causing it to go tier 2.

@GomTang Unfortunately, I don't plan on developing the mod any further. In fact, I'm officially stopping further support for it as I've not played the game in ages and don't have much time to spend on it nowadays. With the time I have, I am distracted with other games. If anyone else wants to pick up where this mod left off, feel free to dig in!
