RPG Dice Collection

Description
This is is a collection of RPG dice you might miss in the TTS but might need for your RPG. Since I wanted to have a somewhat uniform look and feel I made also dice which are included in TTS. This set has white dice with black figures and black dice with white figures so it is possible to change the color of the dice or of the figures on the dice.
The RPG Dice Collection is meant to be used in other mods (would be pointless if it wasn't...duuuh) or just added to your chest. Though I like that me and this mod would be mentioned in the descriptions of the mod which includes this dice.

Finally I finished the Custom Dice Pack, so you can texture your own dice for your mods:
Custom Dice Pack[www.dropbox.com]
Your textures do not need to fit exactly the size of 1024x1024 pixels of the uv map. You can resize the uv map picture to your desired resolution and than use it to align your textures. Just make sure it stays square when you resize the uv map picture.

The RPG Dice Collection includes:
  • A dice cup.

  • D2 marked with roman numerals I and II, geometricall body with two faces and one edge.
  • D3 marked with 1-3 or pips.
    • one D3 in Game Science style format. Additionally it has markings for (R)ock, (P)aper and (S)cissors.
    • one hexahedron, marked with numbers 1-3 twice.
  • D4,
    • tetrahedron marked 1-4 or pips.
    • geometrical body with two faces and one edge, marked with 1-4, should roll better than the tetrahedron.
  • D5, a 10-sided trapezohedron, marked with 1-5 twice or twice with the same pip patterns.
  • D6, hexahedron.
    • Ye good ol' dice known by everyone, marked with pips. Also marked with numbers 1-6.
    • Edge of the Empire Boost die
    • Edge of the Empire Setback die
    • Fudge/Fate Dice, marked with "+", "-" and blanks
    • Chess Dice with different symbols on every side (King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook and Pawn)
    • Hit Location Die with the symbols head, torso, left arm, left leg, right arm, right leg.
    • Crown and Anchor Die, marked with black anchor, clubs, spades, red crown, heart and diamond.
    • Proteus Dice with the symbols Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook, Pawn and ... ILLUMINATI! <long awaited event> confirmed!
    • Descent 2nd Edition dice. Seven differently colored dice (blue, red, yellow, brown, grey, black, green) marked with hearts, surges (lightning bolts) and numbers.
    • "Zap Die" ( http://www.cricro.com/dice/intro.html ). A customizable die where you can swap the die face disks in and out. Further instructions in the mod. Also used in the game "Rattlebones".
  • D7, 14-sided trapezohedron, marked with numbers 1-7 twice or twice with the same pip patterns.
  • D8, octahedron
    • marked with 1-8 or pips.
    • Edge of the Empire Ability die
    • Edge of the Empire Difficulty die
  • D10, 10-sided trapezohedron marked with numbers 0-9, whereas 0 means 10. Also marked with pips.
  • D100/D%, 10-sided trapezohedron, marked with numbers 00-90 in 10 increment steps. Also called percentile die, used usually in combination with the D10 to generate numbers from 1-100, whereas a combination of D10=0 and D100=00 is interpreted as 100.
  • D1000, 10-sided trapezohedron, marked with numbers 000-900 in 100 increment steps. Used usually in combination with the D10 and D100 to generate numbers from 1-1000, whereas a combination of D10=0, D100=00 and D1000=000 is interpreted as 1000.
  • D12 marked with 1-12
    • 'standard' D12 as a dodecahedron.
      • marked with pips or numbers 1-12.
      • Edge of the Empire Proficiency die
      • Edge of the Empire Challenge die
      • Edge of the Empire Force die
      • Hit Location Die with the symbols head, left hand, left arm, right hand, right arm, chest, torso(stomach), crotch, left foot, left leg, right foot, right leg.
    • one not so standard D12 as a rhombic dodecahedron.
  • D14, 14-sided trapezohedron with numbers 1-14.
  • D16, 16-sided bi-pyramid marked with 1-16.
  • D18, rounded Rhombicuboctahedron marked with numbers 1-18.
  • D19, 38-sided trapezohedron marked with 1-19 twice.
  • D20, Icosahedron marked with 1-20.
  • D21, 42-sided trapezohedron marked with 1-21 twice.
  • D24 marked with 1-24
    • Deltoidal icositetrahedron
    • Tetrakishexahedron
  • D30, rhombic triacontahedron marked with 1-30.
  • D34, 34-sided trapezohedron with numbers 1-34. Mostly used as a D100 with 3 of this dice in a 3D34-2 fashion, which means that you take the sum of three D34 dice results and subtract 2 from it.
This method of generating a result with 3D34-2 as a D100 has the advantage of a weighted D100. It lessens the probability of the extremes towards 1 or 100 and sets an emphasis around 50. The probability curve of a 3D34-2 reassembles a bell curve.

All dice which are listed here are fair dice. I personally do not see the use in unfair dice except when it is demanded specifically by a game. And I'd like to include the D5 by game Science just to see how it behaves but I lack the correct dimensions for this special dice. I could probably look it up in the patent paper. ^^

HINT: This dice are probably way to high poly just for a hand full of dice and might be taxing for non dedicated graphic cards. I wanted to use normal maps to create the gloss on the figures, unfortunately it makes everything overly glossy for some reason or I am handling the normal maps wrong (normal maps still not completely fixed in 4.0 but definitely an improvement).
There are low poly textured figures dice (not embossed), so it is your choice of dice, depending whether your PC rig can cope the high poly count of the embossed dice or not.

HINT: Since TTS 9.6 you can add rotation values to dice or other side or face relevant information. I implemented rotation values for almost all dice so you can use them like the build in dice selecting faces by numbers or q/e.

This is very cool. I really want to create a custom die using your models. Please, if you can help me out, add me as a friend.

No, it's probably dropbox acting up, for some reason it doesn't manage to load content always properly. The only normal map links are for the D1000, D100 and D10. Definitely turn on mod caching and start the mod a few times until it loads fully, or wait a little and then press the import buttons of the windows that show up. Might also be the daily download limit of dropbox is reached and you have to try another day.

Are the normal map links dead?

I use a D19 as a curse in DnD, replacing the D20 for a player. The D21 could be used similarly, as a buff with a super-crit for 21 or just a more likely crit.
Thanks for maintaining this great pack!

Aside from the "Zap Die"(swapable faces die), also added a D18, D19 and D21. I am just curious, what is a D19 and D21 used for?

The "zap die" is a great addition. Thank you for this helpful collection!!

Would love a d18, d19, and d21. the d18 can be done, with a rounded-off rhombicuboctahedron, but the other 2 are best off barrels, bipyramids, or as truncated spheres.

Great mod!
