Singapore :: Roads of the City Centre [BETA]

Description
Singapore, a tiny city state located in South East Asia. Home of the multi-cultural cosmopolitan of 5.5 million people living within about 700 sq km / 280 sq miles.

Despite its small size, Singapore boost an extensive network of road infrastructures with new projects one after another. Its affordable public transport network is also top notch, with a wide network of buses and MRTs spanning across the whole island. On top of it all, these would not have happened if not for the excellent urban planning. With all these, it's now your turn to manage the public transport of Singapore!

The first of its series, "Roads of the City Centre" spans across the central area of Singapore, covering the tradition and new City Centre (Shenton Way & Marina Bay), as well as Tiong Bahru, the first residential town of post-WWII Singapore. This map also covers its culturally diverse areas of Chinatown, Little India and Kampong Glam, as well as Kallang, Toa Payoh, Balestier, River Valley, HarbourFront and parts of the Bukit Timah Corridor. This map also includes a built-up Keppel and Marina East, areas of future development of Singapore.

Features
  • 7 Expressways, including the future North South Expressway
  • "Semi-Expressways" along Bukit Timah Corridor and Serangoon Corridor to avoid major gridlocks
  • Modifications at selected Traffic Junctions & Interchanges to avoid major gridlocks
  • Retention of selected Left-hand Drive Roads
  • Wider rivers at major thoroughfares to allow placement of water taxi stops
  • Water Lock between Marina Reservoir and the Sea
  • Built-Up Areas of selected Areas
  • 130% Private Car Usage

Future Features
  • Singapore Underground Road System (SURS), a concentric underground ring road underneath the City Centre
  • Nearly 100% of Built-Up Areas
  • Inclusion of existing MRT Tunnels and Station Interchanges
  • Vegetations, and lots of it

Based on demands for future Singapore maps, I may consider creating maps of other areas of Singapore, especially the NorthEast and Pulau Tekong. At the moment, though, I am facing issues where maps freshly rendered from Maps4CIM would only open once I enter the Map Editor with another map. Until I can find a solution to this, I guess this Singapore Map is the only map for now... :(

Do leave a comment on your favourite part of the map, as well as feedbacks on areas of improvements! Especially on heavily modified intersections. :)

I hope you will enjoy playing this map as much as I having fun creating and testing the map. :)

This map was created using Maps4CIM, with data from the OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors).

It's good that you don't put Metros or Trams in the map because there would be nothing for the player to do.
