Ancient Religions Reborn

Description
Compatible with CK2 3.3.0

Ancient Religions Reborn is a project to give flavor and mechanics to the Hellenic religion, as well as provide events for the restoration of the Celtic and Egyptian pagan religions under certain circumstances.

- Restore Rome for real! Become the Pontifex Maximus and make your un-marriagable daughter into a Vestal Virgin!
- Sweep Prydain as a Celtic Pagan and cast out the last remnants of foreign rule! Reform the faith and establish the Circle of Druids, with the Arch Druid at its head!
- Become Pharoah and re-establish the ancient priesthood of the Kemetic religion! Restore the Temple at Luxor and bring glory to Amun-Ra!

Features a special decision that is useable on the first day of the game, before you unpause, that will turn most of the world into pagans (or Zoroastrians) based on their culture. Most of the screenshots you see are all of a world that has been "paganified."
All this and more can be had!

BACK UP YOUR SAVES before trying Ancient Religions with other mods.FAQ: READ THESE. I will IGNORE all of these questions if they show up in the comments!Is this mod compatible with the EU4 Converter?Currently no. I hope to write our own converter mod in the future, but first I want to make the CK2 experience as good as I can. CK2+ has converter support and incorporates AR into it.What about HIP? CK2+?ARR is not currently compatible with the Historical Immersion Project or CK2+. I would like compatibilty with HIP in the future, but it's unlikely before I feel the mod is more stable, from a feature perspective. CK2+ incorporates an old version of ARR and is thus inherently incompatibile.Could CK2+ get the new ARR features?I've given them a perpetual "license" to incorporate ARR content as they please, you'll have to bring it up with the CK2+ team if you want them to use a newer version of ARR.Will you add my favorite religion?Not likely. I'm focusing on making sure the current three religions and their heresies are flavorful and feature-rich. I am way more interested in having a small number of very well done religions than a bunch of really shallow ones.I think that the Lets. Get. PAGAN! decision should...Nope. The "Lets. Get. PAGAN!" decision is a magic button that turns the whole world pagan, and was originally designed as a debugging feature that, on a whim, I decided to make available to players. I don't consider it an important aspect of the mod, nor is it the intended way to experience the mod's content. As such, I have little interest in giving it any significant support.Can I get a direct download?Sure! https://github.com/xirsoi/ancientreligions/archive/master.zipI do like watching that subscriber count go up though...If you like this, or my other mods, please consider supporting me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/xirsoi or you can send me a tip at ko-fi: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/erzacFm

Those were my suggestion, if you don't feel like you want to return to modding, then someone else could make those suggestions.

Like for example, Yazidi for Kurdish, Zamolxism for Romanians/Vlach, Armenian Paganism, Georgian Paganism, Ashurism for Mesopotamians, and finally Arabian Paganism. Oh, and is it possible for some of the vanilla pagan religions like Baltic, Slavic and Finnic use their own Coat of Arms designs instead of reusing the Germanic ones?

Is it possible to add more pagan religions to the game? And can there be a compatibility patch between this mod and A.D. 633: Rise of Islam which adds the Cushtic Pagan religion?

Brother, I was 16-17 when this mod first came out. To redownload CK2 and be able to play it again was awesome. Thanks for it :) Just my appreciation.

1) yes, i had 2 or 3 other ideas.
2a) You can also convert by right-clicking the shield of a holy site, if you own it, and choosing the right decision.
2b) You don't have to be Sunni. Anyone On Hajj OR on a Pilgrimage to the middle east can get that event.
3) 0.47.0 Morrigan was an update for a critical bug that took me about 5 seconds to fix, not an indication of my return to modding.

i mean i dont wanna be THAT GUY but have u considered other methods to revive Khemetism besides being sunni and getting lost during the Hajj?

A suggestion: Make it so that characters who are connected to/forged the Bloodline of Alexander can wear Alexander's Armor and have his skull active.

Fantastic news!

Sorry it took me so long to get around to it. First update in nearly 4 years, 0.47.0 Morrigan.

It seems unlikely I'll be able to recover my github account. Unfortunate, to be sure, but it won't prevent me from fixing the bug on Steam.

There's not much you can do to fix it for yourself without switching to a manually downloaded and installed version of the mod. You could do that, but it might be a hassle for you.

The fix *is* very simple, however. In the tailteann event file (the files are all just text) change

namespace = ancrel
to
namespace = celtic
