Description
TLDR:
(Patch 2.3.2)
(Can now invite a squire to court)
(This mod does not overwrite anything, and should be compatible with every other mod.)
(This mod changes the checksum and disables achievements.)

This is a request mod, for a male debutante. I couldn't find anything that would be a historical equivalent, other than perhaps a squire. He is a 17 year old lowborn with a random education, stats and traits. I made them lowborn to make it easier to marry them off matrilineal.

This mod also add's a squire trait to every invited squire. The trait gives them a +10 fertility and makes it so they can be easily found under the find character box by typing in squire. No other random character will be generated with this trait. Also the ai will not use this decision.

If you wish to change the age and dynasty, just go into Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod folder, find the Invite_Squires.zip open it up, go into the decisions folder, then open up the invitesquire.txt with a text editor. Under employ_squire change the age from 17 to whatever you want. If you want them to spawn as a noble, change dynasty from none to random.

All my mods are compatible with each other:

Why would you not let the AI use this. Its the reason why I wouldnt use this mod. Its not fair if the AI cant use it.

@TV Mail-order husband, for when you've got a female character that needs to be married off but you can't find any available suitors for some reason.

Would it be possible to have the squire match my religion and culture? I tried adding the traits in myself, but it didn't work.

In reference to Elastrius's comment. I believe Knave or Jack would be approperate titles.

Those were what they called servants. Though the names bring about idea of cuthroats, that is a modern misconsception due to how many people believed that all servants were thieves.

If anyone wants to change the titles, find the Inviteasquire.csv in the localisation folder of the mod. Open it up, in notepad+ or something like that.

Line 2 says: employ_squire;Invite Squire to Court.;;;;;;;;;;;;;x change squire to whatever you want.

Line 4 says: Squire;Squire;;;;;;;;;;;;;x change the 2nd Squire to Yeoman or whatever you would like it to be.

Line 2 changes the description under intrigue tab, line 4 changes the name of the trait. Just make sure not to delete any of the ;;; things that follow it.

Thank you, when I have time I might make another mod that tries to clean this up and make it more historically accurate. I'd love for it be based on religion, depending on the religion the title changes. But I don't know if I'll have the time to really do it right.

Hello there! Very good idea for a mod, you'll fulfill a currently-overlooked need for young, male, lowborn courtiers. I just want to mention something in the interest of historical accuracy- I looked up "Squire" and that tile refers to minor, young nobles who do indeed fulfil the purpose of this mod, but are nobles nonetheless. Perhaps another medieval class would more closely suit this character type? A player could Summon a Yeoman for example, which was an attendant to a noble household, or a Sergeant or Man-at-arms, or a Bailiff or Constable if the age limit was a little higher, all of whom were lowborn males that a Count would have ready access to. Looking forward to whatever you decide to do!
