Description
A Roman Aqueduct with Water Cistern at starting end. Refrence photos in slideshow.

SI Compatible

Water would be collected in the cistern and gravity would allow it to flow down the sloping aqueduct across the landscape to the next cistern. Water could be transported many miles using this method allowing cities to grow much larger than they could with local water sources and allowing creation of ammenities such as public bathhouses, public fountains and even running water in private residences who could afford it via plumbing works.

If volumetric water is ever implemented will have a go at finding a way to make this work properly however can't angle blocks to create a slope at moment so not sure if that would be viable.

Created after a suggestion in the comments of one of my other blueprints. Hope you like it :)

May expand aqueduct further across landscape in coming weeks and implement a series of cisterns to drop its height or turn its course (depends if any other blocks come out that will be suitable. Theoretcally can be built as high as possible expanding on its current design but eventally it will become too wide to look right. Hopefully the current look is a good balance between the design and practicality.

Feedback and comments welcome. Hope you enjoy :)

i'm hoping they add running water as if they do you could theroetically build a digital computer (you could also builad an anologue or even hybrid computer but that would be beyond my skill level) as the water would flow through a channel like electricity in a wire and by controlling and rediecting the flow you could simulate all the logic functions necessary to build a computer an we could make redstone computers look like yesterdays news

Looks awsome Billy, and glad to see another person hoping that they add Water to the game.

Hi Sparta, thanks :)

It does yeah. I'm sure SI is switched on on the upload but I had switched it off at one point to alter the layout of the lowest arches as wasn't starting from scratch with it on! If it's not on already it's safe to put it on.

It can be expanded lenghtwise as long as you build from the bottom up and copy the design as it is on the other spans (it takes a little time and landscaping with the voxel hands though so didn't do it any longer at the moment - will expand it when I get time). Arches cant be higher than the 3 blocks they are due to the weight above. If you're going to make the lowest arch higher than 3 blocks you need to build the lowest level out one extra block wide to each side to take the weight with SI on (take a look at the reference photos and previous spans if not sure :) ).

SI works pretty cool that way at the moment as looking at photos and drawings it's pretty much the same design Aqueducts were built to back in the day.

This looks awsome! Does it work with stuctural integrity?
