HL Respawn Minimal Battery Ion

Description
This respawn ship is designed to spawn just outside the gravity field of the Earth-like planet.

Required Mods: None
Inventory size compatibility: All sizes
Overwrites default ships?: No
Oxygen Ready?: Yes
Hydrogen Ready?: Yes
Planet Ready?: Yes
Compatible with: Space Engineers 1.185.301+

Minimal ships only contain the basics for survival inside their cargo storage. This gives the player a chance to try survival with just the basics. Keep in mind that this is not the absolute minimum. You also have the components of the ship. These are meant to be minimal but still fun rather than absolute minimum.

The ship's cargo contains components to build the following:
* Refinery
* Assembler
* Reactor
* Small cargo
* Passenger seat
* A few light steel armor blocks for a station

The ship has about 1 hour of full-throttle fuel (battery)

This mod will not modify other respawn ships or the default ships. My respawn ships are packaged individually so you can pick-n-choose which respawn ships you want rather that entire packs of ships which might contain ships you don't want. If you don't want the default ships shown at all, then use HL Respawn Disable Defaults.

Now compatible with planets and will spawn just outside the Earth-like planet's gravity.

@DarkHeart, I made a large minimal battery ship. Check my workshop to find it and let me know if that's what you wanted. You can easily make it into a respawn ship mod following my tutorial guide.

@Dark Heart, point me to yours and I can probably make 'em work for ya. The only reason I made a large spawn ship (air bus) was mainly to be able to have a space to walk in that had air. Kinda hard to make a "minimal" ship that is large without it not feeling "minimal" hehehe.

@LHammonds Love what you have done here. Assuming your still around modding ect. could you by chance do something and make a largeship version of this. Love the concept but would like to have people spawn with min needed and since the changes to spawn ships my personal ones no longer function. i also have not the time to studie to make another.
(i have been loading people in and Spawning a prefab with all in ) but would be better to give them from the list. i could reenable spawn ships again :)

Well, the below instructions had a high suck-factor in terms of how to do this (each post limited in size) so I did as you suggested and created a guide on how I did these.

Oh, forgot to mention you need to add a "RespawnShips.sbc" with just the entry for your ship. If you are wanting to overwrite the default ships, copy the file of the same name with the default definitions in it and either overwrite their definitions with your or add the enabled=false entry (I guess that is the "new method" you are referring to?) If you are making this for your server and want the default ships disabled, then I'd incorporate what Geneticus did inside my own mod to reduce the amount of mods needed as well as ensuring you have full control over your mod (and it won't just disappear over time for whatever reason which is beyond your control)

The mod folder for this particular mod would be "%appdata%\SpaceEngineers\Mods\HL Respawn Battery"

If you subscribe to my mod, find the archive in your "mods" folder called "406527896.sbm" You can use an archive utility like 7-zip and extract it to its own folder and examine it to see the file and folder structure used for this kind of mod as well as the text entries inside "RespawnShips.sbc" which is just a text file.

I don't know about "new" method. It works with the current version. You make the ship you want while in offline and creative mode (with copy/paste enabled) and when done, press CTRL+C to copy the ship. Then press F11 to bring up the debug menu and export your ship. Take the exported ship and move it into your mod folder. Create a very small/compressed preview image and name it "thumb.jpg"

If you did it right, you should see your mod as a folder when editing your world and selecting mods (again, only works in offline mode). Once you've tested it out and ensured it works as expected, you can then click the Publish button to upload to the workshop so you can use it on your server.
