Description
Well, this should be rather straightforward: the M249 from Insurgency replaces L4D2's LMG, aka the M60.

Nothing particularly special here, as very similar mods have been done in the past by Twilight Sparkle; in fact, you can effectively say this is more or less a near-copycat of her M249 mods, just with a different model, origin, and more particle effects - including shell ejection. I'm even using the exact same animations: an edited version of the default M60 animations, which are, in turn, an edited version of the default AK-47 animations. This means there is no "proper" reload animation, nor do I plan to add one; quite frankly, I think it'll be far more trouble than it's worth, as the LMG in L4D2 was not meant to be reloaded in the first place. You'll still be able to reload if you're on a specially modded server or using ammunition optimizer scripts that give the LMG reserve ammunition; it'll just look slightly awkward, that's all.

The video and the screenshots are viewed in the game's default FOV of 51, as opposed to a FOV of 60, like I normally do in the screenshots and videos for my other mods.

Anyway, enough of that for now. Custom VGUI icon is available if you want one. In addition, don't forget to download Urik's updated particle mod to see the extra particle effects without missing texture bugs (ie, "purple smoke"). Also, if you want the tank music that is shown in the second video, click here to download.

Known issue: As Nick, if you are playing at FOVs of 60 or greater, you may notice a bit of "sleeve clipping" from the left arm. To the best of my knowledge, this issue is isolated strictly to Nick, though some custom survivor arms may also be affected. Most of it is obscured by the health bar HUD, but once you see it, you can't un-see it. I know it's a little distracting, but there's not much, if anything, I can do about it.

@Nebbers: I found just a perfect animation you can put on your M249 https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2765245601

You think you can update this with CSGO M249 anims, if you want Valve anims.

FYI I made a hud icon and weapon script for this mod. I imported this into blender and although the firing animation looks right I cannot figure out why it's so odd in game. So I did what I could do and made the icon and script:

HUD Icon for Nebbers's Insurgency M249 https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2282212038 .

Use this weapon script to make the transformation complete: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/itemedittext/?id=2282437465 .

Thanks for this mod and consider the 13 hours one!

Understood. I'm just putting around in blender myself so I don't know how to do much, otherwise I'd offer to help

When I can, I'll take a look at it. Keep in mind this was quite a while ago, and spare time is significantly harder for me to come by these days, so I can't make any guarantees.
