Description
The Pirate's version of the "Heavy Bomber", it was made famous by the well known, "McAllister" brothers, who flew a modified Marauder, aptly named: "Death's Head".

After succesfully raiding and plundering numerous commercial shipping for several years and accumilating $18-Billion GalCred bounty on their heads, they were finally cornered in the Tigris system. However, they did not go down without a fight. In what has come to be known as the "Showdown of Tigris", they gloriously fought to the death against a squadron of Defense Force fighters, and several corvettes. Although the "Death's Head" was destroyed and both the "McAllister" brothers were killed, Defense Forces consider the battle a tactical loss, as half the squadron was lost, and one of the corvettes was disabled and had to be towed into drydock for repairs and refitting. The loss of life and property that day, was tremendous.

The Marauder is a very agile, fast bomber, that can carry a crew of 2. While both the pilot and co-pilot can control the entire ship from their station, one would typically fly the ship and control the weapons, while the other would control the ships other systems, and monitor threats.

It has plenty of cargo space for stolen goods, and a rear connector for docking to other ships, and stations.

Very few Marauders have ever been seen or encountered since the "Showdown of Tigris" , so it would appear that pirates do not have many of these ships. Since the "Death's Head" incident, no other Marauders have become neither as infamous nor as highly wanted. The loss of the McAllisters seems to have demoralized the pirate bands, operating in the region, as piracy has decreased significantly.

However, if any Marauders SHOULD be encountered, Defense Forces pilots and Police constibles are advised to engage the ship from the bottom, if possible - as that is it's weakest point. They should NEVER, under any circumstances, engage it in a head-on fight (easier said than done, given the ships agility) as the 4x quad missile launchers will make short work of any targets ahead of the ship. Further more, a rear-firing gun is a nasty surprise for any persuing fighters.

BUGS: When looking at the ship from the back, the top left large thruster MAY pop out on first use. Repairing the engine bay (may need to remove lower thruster to get to it easier) and reinstalling it fixes the problem. Don't know why this happens.... but it's not my only blueprint to have this problem.
