Description
This is a 2km map inspired by the american south west, the in game textures dont really match the the real terrain so I've used rock grass instead of old grass which seems more fitting, unfotunatly the textures didnt blend well.

Despite the colours being off, I really do like how this map turned out.

More maps here.

I absolutely love this map. Plenty of flat spaces with cliffs to make castles with epic vistas. I have a couple of ideas you gould use.

Archipelago - chain of islands (surrounded by dirt since there's not water yet) maybe with some high cliffs.
Island - Kinda the same as the previous but instead a single large island with high cliffs.
Fjords - High cliffs with deep canyons in between. The canyons should be 90 degree directions to make proper bridges over.
Greek Island - Find some greek island and see what looks best :p
Just thought any of these would look awesome :D

Wow! Have you considered doing something resembling the Appalachian Mountain Range?

i like this craggy look, it actually reminds me a bit of karst areas or mountains like the dolomites in europe. maybe because of the rockcolor.
interessting without trees, maybe a bit hard if full survival kicks in ;)

as an idea, something like this, but not as high, more like plateaus divided by steep ravines and eroded sidecliffs where they meet the flatter terrain.
