I agree about the fertile land, the problem is that by placing the trees it removed the fertile land atribute (they're not compatible, one replaces the other for some reason), which kinda sucks and it's a game mechanic I'd love to see changed in the near future. The only way would be to place an unforested area or leave it to the player to build farms on the mountains (though that's challenging due to the little space that's avaliable on top of the mountains).
- no rail connection
- the highway that goes out of the first town area and does a loop could extend to a new external connection
- little fertile land in the valleys (realistically this land would be great for farming)
Otherwise this map is excellent - highly recommended!
