Gunsight Camera

Description
This is an actual camera mod. It uses the stock camera but has a overlay that I designed just for the fun of it. It is for both small and large ships and stations although it is mainly designed for small fighters. It can be used in conjunction with the stock camera equipped on the same ship. The screen shots show both the stock camera on the bottom of the fighter and the gunsight camera between the forward thrusters. When placing the camera it needs to be directly between your weapons to be accurate.

As a hint in using your weapons at long range using the zoom function on the camera. For accuracy I have two gyros. one at full power and the other at 8%, when i start my attacks at long range I turn off my full powered gyro and maneuver only with the 8% or long range gyro. It makes aiming a lot easier and more accurate.

Update 1: I found some mounting errors associated with large block- this has been corrected.
Modeling errors associated with small block when building or repairing damaged camera- This has also been corrected
I tweaked the gun-sight's durability, it is almost 3 times more durable than stock camera, this also means it requires more components and a longer build time, twice that of the camera.
Finally I added a line between the environmental display and the pilot display for a better appearance.

Hope everyone enjoys this mod, I intend to start working on a more generic, gun-sight similar to my gunsight overlay. I should have it up in a day or two.

Very old mod but great one. Is there a newer model somewhere? This does not work on large grid. Come up incomplete placing in Creative.

BF2 I haven't had time to work on this mod in a while, However, I will be adding it to a new mod pack that I will be releasing soon. I will be updating it as well as many of my other optic mods plus adding more to the pack. I will place a link here once it is uploaded.

I use a keyboard and mouse set up.
My pitch and yaw switch places when I use this camera.

Also on this mod I will be modifing it slightly, removing the extras as the game HUD has change since I created it.

I am actully working on several camera/hud mods at the moment. so far I have a docking camera completed that gives you a view directly at the connector so docking is a breeze. I also have an HUD that works with Kolts cockpit with hud. It will give you the option to zoom in and out. basically a camera with the HUD overlay. Waiting on Permission for DiGi to use his timer microprocessor for the model. I have both installed locally and they work great. Also have a camera that when attached to the bottom of the original cockpit for small ship. gives you a halo overlay inside the cockpit so that you can zoom in and out through the cockpit forward window. saddly it don't work with the fighter cockpit because the modeling of the interior is incomplete. I also working on a Gundum overlay camera,and a few others. Most will be available this week end.

Would like to see the magnification bumped up a bit like the telescope mod. Another aiming tip. Battle ships of yore were not only big to carry all that armor and ammo and gear, but the great lenght of the ships contributed to stabiltiy while aiming. A long space ship will be easyer to aim than a compact ball like one. Another posibllity would be to mod vanilla weapons to include this as an aiming scope situated very close and inline with the line of fire.

The gunsight is calibrated for max range so you can zoom in on the target and pick off its weapons while outside the targets 800 meter range. Like with the stock reticle the aim point of the weapons are dependent on range and how far apart your weapons are on your ship. For the greatest maximized fire I group my weapons together inline with the flight axis so that thier fire is concentrated both at long range and up close.

but where your guns point depends on how far your away from your target
