DISCRIPTION

The HMS Fearless. A Brig designed after the ships roaming the carribbean from the 1700s - the golden pirate ages, aye.
Inspirations for it were mostly "Assassins Creed: Black Flag", the "Pirates of the Carribbean" films and "One Piece" (Yeah, I'm a bit of a pirate fan but not that much).
This is a DUPE, no addon! Also no DLC except for WeightSTool needed! (for additional info go to -> "What you maybe need to know")
And btw I'm sorry for the amount of text, I tried to give you every bit of information about this dupe possible to avoid any problems while using it.

ADDITIONAL INFO ABOUT THE PROJECT "HMS FEARLESS"

Honestly, I didn't want to start this project at all. I only did it because I wanted a big ship from the old 1700s but couldn't find any ship in the workshop, so I created the Fearless to finally have one.
It took a lot of hours to make it - mainly because I started from point 0 with just two plates, I didnt have any help and it's not built after a specific model nor did I use a copy of something - but it's still unfinished.
The reason why it's still unfished: I wanted to add some cannons but unfortunately my PC already began a bit lagging when I moved the ship (I have a terrible notebook, not even designed for gaming), so basically my computer wouldn't last any longer if I add more content to it, that's why this here is only the basic "empty" model (you can see how it would look like with full weaponry in the screenshot just before the last one in the gallery above).
What I want to say is, that the ship is complete but lacks any weapons or special details.

WHAT YOU MAYBE NEED TO KNOW

- I only used props from the standard GarrysMod prop folders, so no addons (except for WeightSTool) or other DLCs are needed to use it.
- There's a enterable captains quarter under the bridge, just walk into one of the two doors on deck, they are non-solid.
- It's floating capabilities have been successfully tested on the "Excess-Islands" map.
- The ship is big enough for a real crew, so it's far away from a swiming nutshell that's for sure.
- You can activate the lanterns with the "L"-key.
- The HMS Fearless can't drive, so you'll have to make it driveable on your own.
- This ship doesn't have any cannons (you can see how it would look like in a screenshot above though).

!!! PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS OR THE HMS FEARLESS WONT WORK PROPERLY !!!

Since this thing is just one big garrys mod creation / dupe (because I don't know how to make a model like ragdolls etc. for GMod), there are some things you have to do before and after spawning the HMS Fearless. Otherwise it wont be able to float or will break or some other crap will go on:

- NEVER CREATE A SAVE FILE WITH THIS DUPE IN IT! IT WILL LITERALLY TAKE FOREVER TO SAVE! Don't do it, GMod WILL freeze for about 30 minutes+ when saving the game with the HMS in it! Saving the HMS as a dupe (if you changed something on it and want to keep the changed version for example) however doesn't take more than 5 seconds even with very slow computers.
- You need to have the addon "WeighSTool" active BEFORE you spawn the ship! (I put a link to it in the right box)
- Make sure that you or the server you're on set the server prop- and rope-limits to a high amount! Around 500 - 600 should be fine.
- Make sure that you only spawn it in a clear, flat area and drag it above a deep water area before unfreezing it! You can spawn it on land because it's frozen a bit in the air.
- Only freeze and drag the ship with the big 1/2-tunnel part on the underside of the back half, that's the most stabilized part of the ship to transport it!
- BEFORE unfreezing, take the "Physical Attributes"-Tool (Standard GMod-Tool) and change the two parts on the underside of the ship (marked red in the last screenshot in the gallery above) into "Wood" with gravity on - otherwise the Fearless wont swim! Somehow GMod doesn't save these attributes on dupes...
- The Fearless is built up complex and sensitive to fast movement (it has a bit loose construction because of being just a dupe), so I really don't recommend experimenting on it on your own unless you know what you have to look out for.
- Also because of the construction, fast crashes against walls or hitting the map limits while draging the HMS around etc. is not recommended, it'll most likely end in a mess that will break GMod!
- You may need a moderate or good PC, otherwise it'll lag a lot if moved/touching water and could even crash GMod!
- If you have a moderate or good PC and want to use this dupe on a multiplayer server, please think of other players which maybe do not have one first. Even if it's not lagging for you, it'll lag for them and thus obviously ruining the gameplay.

KNOWN ISSUES

If you have any trouble even after following the instructions above, send me a message or leave a comment and I'll try to fix it. I can't guarantee to fix everything since I have absolutely no programming skills or stuff that is needed to fix technical problems. I just made a dupe with the basic knowledge about the tools and building in GMod!

- on the map "dd.ocean" there are some specific places where the HMS will sink occasionally to the ground even with the two parts set to "wood". FIX: Unknown
- after spawning, the highest triangle sail in the front sometimes begins to have a own life. FIX: Freeze and unfreeze this part or drag it a bit. This will not always save the problem. If so, try to connect it with the other parts of the sail while frozen and unfreeze it again after connecting.



I put a lot of effort into this thing, so if it worked for you and you like it leave a like - if you want of course. Appreciate it mate!
You can also leave a comment with some ideas what could be improved on the Fearless and I'll see if my PC can handle some additional things.
I excuse myself for bad english, I didn't use Googletz Tranzlatorz and instead used my school english learned back in the good old days and from a big amount of youtube videos ;)
