Description

Bolt Action Snipers vs Knives!
This is a custom theater.

It contains 1 version;
> insanz_bolts_vs_knives_v1.theater : Security have M40A1's and Mosin's (Iron Sights Only) and a chest rig while Insurgency have knives only.

Host a server and want to run this theater? Here's how!
On your PC:
  • Subscribe to this or any other workshop theater, then find the .vpk that it downloaded.
    Location: "steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency\custom\workshop" (or similar)
    You may need to launch Insurgency then close it, to download it

  • Download GCFScape[nemesis.thewavelength.net] to open any future .vpk files
    The Archive is currently 334 KB and you just need drag the 2 files (GCFScape.exe & HLLib.dll) for either 32bit or 64bit (not both), anywhere you want (I used my Insurgency folder).

  • Run GCFScape.exe and open the .vpk with that. You will get the '.theater' file inside and you can put it somewhere. You will be uploading this to your server soon.
Now you have the '.theater' file, the rest applies to your server, not local PC.
On your server:
  • Creat the following folder structure in your servers Insurgency directory (where 'cfg' folder is): "/scripts/theaters/"

  • Place your theater file inside "/scripts/theaters/".
    For example: "/scripts/theaters/custom_theater.theater"

  • Go to "/cfg/server.cfg" add the following (replacing custom_theater with the theater name):
    mp_theater_override "custom_theater"

  • Restart your server then join it to see the theater in action.

In the past I was heavily invested in the Arma 2: DayZ Mod and Insurgency Modding communities and offered countless hours of support and free mods, plugins, etc. Ranging from this very theater, to much more complicated endeavours. I have since been occupied elsewhere and therefore, regrettably, can't dedicate my time to projects like this for recreation anymore. If you (or anyone else) might be interested, please feel free to add me on Steam (only public profiles accepted). I wish I could have helped you more, but it's been a while since my Insurgency heyday. If you are really eager to get it working and yet unable/unwilling to seek my assistance, you should be able to find documentation (or someone else) to help you, as you will need to create a custom theater, based on the existing Coop ones, combined with a custom server.cfg and server_coop.cfg (or whatever it is called now). Hey Psycho (and anyone else), as I haven't played INS for 2+ years, I know things have changed and so linking you a previously created theater file won't work. I would be surprised if these workshop files still do, to be honest. HOWEVER, I offer tech support as well as server modding and custom configuration, so feel free to contact me by adding me on Steam, for a low cost solution. Prices vary based on the work load, but I usually just request a small donation to my community to help cover my time, then I will complete the work for you. EVERY CENT will be put straight into Pacific Gaming League [PacificGL.com] in the form of a donation. It's easier for me to complete it for you or assist you in completing it (if you wanted to learn for next time) than explaining step by step instructions for the numerous requests I recieve and hope they do it right. But that is not the only reason...

Hey mate, I'm trying to make my own theater but I'm having a bit of trouble and was wondering if u could run me through the required files. I want to recreate push on buhriz with restricted weapons/attachments. I want a 5 man team taking on 10 insurgents (bots) I have TeamSpeak and Discord. :)

It is a custom theater. Basically, server admins can download this and place it in "insurgency/scripts/theaters/" (creating the scripts and theaters folders if they don't exist) and enter "mp_theater_override insanz_bolts_vs_knives_v1" in the server.cfg ...
Then restarting the server means this set up is running on there for anyone who joins. Best used for events and not 24/7. If anyone has trouble joining a server due to "enforcing consistency" when sv_consistency is set to 1, this will download the updated version and allow them to join.
