The Fortress - BE

Description
*** UPDATE! Finally going back through and fixing textures in the old maps. Enjoy! ***

"Fortress Dempsey"

Near the edge of the Empire and the Great White Wastes lies Fortress Dempsey, an outpost fortress built to defend one of the passes through the Brydon mountain range. Unlike normal castles the entire fortress is staffed by soldiers who might be called upon at any moment to fend off an attack by Goblin raiding parties and Orc brigands. Man the walls to protect the lands of men or storm them and bring the Empire to it's knees.

*** WARNING! *** WARNING! ***
This map is HUGE and contains a ridiculous number of pieces. Because of this it will cause some computers to run slowly and lag out. It's a great map but because I built it in a 1x1 ratio there is a lot more space to fill up and that means more pieces, which in turn means more CPU power being used. Just a heads up that it will probably load slowly.

You can almost think of this map as a stress test for the game with all the different rooms, areas, and detail pieces that I put in it. Like I said before, it's on a 1x1 scale so the pieces are smaller but this allowed me to cover a larger area so I could build a complete fortress. It also allowed me to build on multiple height levels so you can play below ground, at ground level, and above the ground in the towers. Here's a list of some of the things you can find in Fortress Dempsey...

* Walls that surround the entire complex
* A moat for protection
* Drawbridge with a large gate at the only entrance
* 3 officer's quarters and a planning room
* Armory and a smithy
* Fully functional kitchen and mess hall for the soldiers
* Stable for mounts
* 2 rear towers that rise 4 levels above the ground and 2 levels beneath them
* 2 front towers that rise 3 levels above the ground
* An underground holding cell area connecting the 2 rear towers
* Soldier's barracks that are underground as well (see below to learn how to access them)
* A practice area for the soldiers
* A main hall for visitors and messengers to wait in

There are lots of options for your gaming sessions on this map so enjoy!

Couple of final tips for any DM that might use this map in a campaign:
1. If you want to import your own models or figurines into the game I suggest bringing up a blank table, loading all the models you might use, and then dropping them into a bag. Copy the bag once it's full and then paste it on the Fortress Dempsey map. Otherwise if you try to load something the normal way it will spawn in the middle of bunch of blocks and be a pain to retrieve.

2. To access the solider's barracks that are below ground is pretty easy but bears a little explanation. Look to open area of darker grass inside the keep, I left it unlocked so that you could highlight it when mousing over. To open the barracks just delete those darker grass tiles but do not delete the single floating stone tiles as they will allow you to close it off again after you use it. Once you're done inside just copy and paste the grass tiles from the sideboard, as long as you paste them directly to the floating stone tiles they will balance perfectly, then you can enlarge them to fill out the hole and lock em in place. Piece of cake right?!

*** While the arrangement of the pieces is mine, all credit is given to the creators of the individual models. If the work is yours please let me know and I will gladly give you credit below. ***

Bobirov- Used his blocks to build just about everything. Also used many of his custom models. His block series can be found here:

Generalchaos- Bunch of his models as well, along with some of his flooring. Used pieces from his updated Town Tiles mod. You can get em here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=384301928
