No Command Points

Description
So, there was a request for this, and I figured hey.. shouldnt be too hard to just "delete" things! :p

Anyway, this is a DRASTIC overhaul of the game mechanics.. I have NO idea how this is going to effect balance. The game may be more fun.. or it may be a horrible disaster. I simply did this for giggles.

This is what was done:
1. Removed Command Points from Outposts. retain their system protecting functions and trade giving.
2. Support module, deleted it, shouldn't show up at all.
3. Command computer remnant upgrade, also deleted it, (it shouldn't even spawn, but who knows)
4. Removed the planet support boost from the research "Improved Planet Support". Now it pretty much does nothing, but I left it in the tree since i didn't feel like remaking the entire tech tree to take it out.
5. Discoved that "Space Elevators" had a hidden function not listed of giving monetary income pressure if the system has a commerce station.. WHO KNEW.. (decided not to delete space elevator)
6. Removed accompaning supports from all remnant camps (I think).
7. Removed the "Dry Dock" camp entirely, as spawning 3 Ixioms was OP even in normal play, and at least for me finding one early was an instant "i win" button.
8. Edited Planet Levels to give 0 Support.

RECOMMEND STARTING GAME WITH STARTING FLEETS DISABLED JUST TO COVER ANY "SUPPORTS" I MIGHT HAVE MISSED.

If you noticed I missed something and/or you are still seeing a lot of support out there in the universe let me know and I "may" find the time to update this to fix that. (or i may wander off into the void to never be heard from again.. i am flaky that way)

So, this makes it a war of flagships?
I'd like to see a mod so that price, maintenance, and labour costs of ships can be set at the start of the game then, so it can be a large scale war.

Hah, I'm not quite there yet. AI, movers and balance are not my strong suites.

Yeah, there is more needed here to make this "good" then the scope of my original intent; which was just a whim to prove it "can" be done. This pretty much needs to edit the entirety of the game to make it "balance".

As with all my mods, I have no problems with other people "stealing", making changes, and posting them up. So if you feel up to the challenge have at it.

I have never felt that I somehow owned the intellectual rights of what equates to adjusting a few text files..

'A lot more' is right. You'd have to rebalance the weapons, outright block the designing of support ships, and worst of all, you'd have to teach the AI how to handle the changed gameplay.

There's also a matter of increased micromanagement. You may want to consider letting flagships form fleets with each other.

Yeah, I just did a quick test run for about 30 minutes or so and Nylil are still getting supports, I also apparently didn't dig deep enough as it still tries to spawn shipyards, etc, but simply tosses some errors into the log.

The AI will likely be unable to build "new" designs as the "build random design" button is broken due to these changes. I'm sure it will continue to "Size Up" existing designs tho, as is its common practice.

Also.. these changes lend a whole "new" design shift in how capitals are made. I designed a ship that was nothing but about 12 flying rocket launchers with just enough command, engines, etc to move them.. needless to say it wrecked everything with no supports in the way. lol.

For this to be a truly "good idea" for a mod, a lot more then 40 minutes worth of work needs to be put into it.

AI's probably going to screw up everything it can.

Anyway, did you check the ancient shipwreck, the one that can give you an Ixion if you're lucky? Sometimes it just spawns a group of Heavy Gunships.

That being said, without anyone to control them, support ships will act like turrets before expiring. (If they aren't from the abovementioned anomaly.)
