Domestici Pedites

After the Praetorians were disbanded in 312AD, they were replaced by the scholae, who were under command from the Emperor, and later the Comes Domesticorum.

The Comes Domesticorum Peditum (Count of the Household Foot), had an elite unit of bodyguards, the Domestici Pedites. The Domestici Pedites are unique as they are the only scholae unit which fought on foot.

As an Elite unit, they are highly trained, and when all of the Empire falls around them, these men will hold and see the Glory of the Eagle one more time!

This unit is especially drilled at counter cavalry combat, and will excel at fighting off even the heaviest cavalry units. They also have high defence and attack stats making them adept at melee combat with other infantry units, especially as their morale is high due to their elite status, and training.

They can be recruited by both Roman Empires, in a level 4 infantry barracks, and are available for custom battles.

This unit is expensive, but worth it!
