Aarhus H - Part 2

Description
UPDATED for After Dark.
- Path between Part 1 and 2 is now a tunnel.
- Part 1 and 2 can now be put together on flat terrain (Though its not ment to be).

Aarhus H is the main trainstation in the city of Aarhus in Denmark. Build in 1927 by DSB architect K.T. Seest.

The model is fairly accurate in 1:1 scale. Though some details had to be omitted because of tris size. Also the double tracks are closer together than in real life. And therefor the platforms are wider too.

Tris count is higher than what I aimed for. This is because of details inside the building covering the platforms. Which you can view through the skylights. Or you can use a mod to get a first person view.

Remember to download the props too ▬►

Tris: 11120
Texture (d, a, s, i): 4096 x 256 px

LOD:
Tris: 140
Texture (d, a, s, i): 256 x 256 px

For Stats, see screenshot. Stats are a somewhat higher than the default station. Except noise which is a bit lower, because the train tracks are place in a trench/lowering.

This is the second part of the station with platforms, administration building and tracks.

Important: To see how to assemble the two parts, see image above. You will need Terraform Tool to do this. It looks a bit overwhelming because I tried to make them detailed enough to prevent too many questions. it's really not too complicated though. It is also posible to place the two parts on flat terrain. You will still need to messure out the roads to place it by.

When the two parts are put together correctly, passengers will walk through the main building to get to and from the tracks. Though they tend to chose their own alternative routes and wonder off the platforms when waiting.

Multi-Track Station Enabler works well with this station. You will have to point out the tracks through the gap between the platform building and the administration building. Guess I was lucky that there was that gap :) There are two tracks without platform access (one in each side) which should not be used for this.

Outside trains will only use the station if the 2nd track (counted from the main building (Part 1)), is connected.

Big thanks goes out to Sims firehouse for discovering and sharing the information on how to do the invisible pedestrian pathing. And to BloodyPenguine for his mod: More Network Stuff.

i cant connect the roads, every space is already occupied by the station, i even expended the gap between the building and the station by one, still nothing

Hi @Djelle, thanks mate. The station is looking impressive. I was just asking the last most track was usable and further to your answer makes much more sense. Keep up your good work and take care mate.

@manu - I guess u mean the 8th track ;) Sorry for nit-picking. The 7th track is usable. The 8th is not. I am unsure if u ask if it is usable, or if I can make it usable. To the later: I doubt I will ever make the 8th track usable for passengers. The reason be that this track does not exist on the real station. And thus it has no platform.

Things are going quite a bit slower than I anticipated, on me getting to update this station. Sorry for that. No eta.

Hi @Djelle, can 4th track (counted from the main building (Part 1)) is usable for passengers?

sure :) and if the height becomes an issue, see if you can get in touch with Boformer; he'll be able to tell you right away if it's possible or not, and in the case that it's not possible but is an easy fix, he'll probably fix it in a few days. He's pretty awesome :)

@No Dread - I guess u mean Sub-Buildings Enabler?! I looked through it's documentation. And I like it a lot. I could fear that it would be a problem with the height difference of my two building parts. I might do some testing when I return to this project. Thx for pointing me to this mod :highlvl:

You could consider updating this using the multi-building mod, which would make it so that all building parts were automatically placed :)

@Djelle Alright :)

@stamenstoev - I'm happy that u like my station. But I am not going to make a new project of this size. Sorry. It is simply too much work. I only did this one because it is the station of the city I live in.
