Arcadia Pass

Description
WARNING: If you're going to skip the rest of the description, then just know not to build dams anywhere along the higher elevation river. They won't work correctly because of how I used water sources to control the river's course. Sorry.

This is an Alpine/Dolomite inspired map, and it was my hope to recapture some of the spirit of those mountain ranges. It's also intended to be an upgraded version of my previous map, Cantil Valley, which I felt had some significant issues in terms of its physical layout, namely that there were some areas of the map which were unfortunately quite boring and the distribution of space wasn't as good as I would have liked.

Arcadia Pass's basic layout features a large, central and fertile valley with some hand placed hedgerows intended to add some definition to the landscape. Surrounding the valley on most sides are a thin, but continuous strip of mountains intended to offer the illusion of size while ultimately having a relatively small footprint.

There are several high capacity lakes in the valley, including the starting tile, which can be used to pump water and dump sewage for cities of any size. Again, I do not recommend building any dams on the upper river.

Oil is not available on the map, but all three of the other resources are.

Ship transportation is not available on the map, but rail and air are.

There is roughly a 60,000 spare tree budget.

Terrain blocked out in Photoshop, edited with Wilbur and the Skylines map tools.

Yes. I might make a Boreal version at some point in the near future.

Is this European-themed?

You have such beautiful maps! I am having a great time with Wilbur. Thank you so much for introducing me to it. It is really powerful for such a little program

A new map with a very strange river which shouldn't overflow since I used the method you showed me. On the other hand I might have gotten a little overboard with the water sources. Unfortunately it seemed like a no river or strange river sort of situation to me.
