Is it because i have a support made floor that covers the grass?
To investigate what might going wrong disable the "Alpha Test" for the "invis" material provided with the ladder in the NL2MAT editor, "Alpha and Blend" tab, then reload the ladder object. You can see the transport element in play mode then. It should be aligned with the ground at the initial state and then move up.
Maybe I will update this package soon and include a ladder that can be scaled in the editor but I cannot promise anything.
