Description
This is the Vel Cannon, as seen on the Charon Class Light Cruiser. I have pulled the weapon from the cruiser and mounted its associated timer blocks onto the gun itself. I have also added the minimum necessary blocks around the weapon in order to save you from needing to work too much with merge blocks.

This version of the Vel Cannon includes select fire –burst or continuous fire.

Caution! If you are going to change ownership of this item, turn off the barrels (CSD Battle Cannons) before you do, otherwise they will all fire when ownership is changed.

For it to work again, You have to shut of the cannons before you power them and change the option in the sensors to detect subgrids to ON. Hope this helps. Works for me.

Perhaps it's for the fact that the guns are on? Maybe you should turn them off before powering it?

Just checked the Vel Cannon BP and the Charon Light Cruiser BP (both use the same weapon system) and found the same issues as you. The problem must be the result of a change with the game and/or the cannon mod. I tried a few things but couldn't get it working again. Sorry, I have not solution at the moment.

Still I have an issue with it, I integrated (from the BP on the workshop) it to my ship (actually buit a ship from scratch out of this "gun" ) the core of the ship was complete : core structure, thrusters, gyros, gravity drives, conveyors (saved just to be safe...) and there was the issue: when i put the "power-on" (plugged in a reactor for testing) I heared a loud gun noise .... :( I when to check the front of my ship and few blocks at the front of the guns where damaged/destroyed (seems they all fired at once !)
I decided to test it by itself (without a full ship around it ), same issue : as soon as I power it up all guns fire together, then they still "silent" whatever firing mode I use (continuous or burst) the barrel rolls but no gun fire at all.... any advice ?

It takes 10 seconds for one barrel to reload, so you could achieve a machine gun like fire rate if you had many many barrels. But, that would make for an extremely large gun. E.g. 10 barrels could fire, continuously, at a rate of 1 shot per second or 60 rounds per minute - if you went to 40 barrels (probably ridiculous), you'd have a fire rate of 240 rounds per minute or 4 shots per second. This would still be a slow fire rate for a machine gun (even the browning 50 cal has a fire rate of something like 600ish rounds per minute). Then again, this is a huge cannon - not a machine gun :)

You can add more barrels arch_wolf but I don't remember If you can speed it up tp make a machine gun like fire rate

Correct - CSD Battlecannon; you can see it listed under "Required Items" on the side panel. That is the only mod needed! Thanks for stopping by :)

Which mod(s) are/is needed? Is that the CSD Battlecannon or is it contained in any other mod? Please provide this info in the text... :)
